ProHear is a brand, not a description. These are not as good as other MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE 'professional shooter' ear protection, BUT, I have seen multiple YouTube videos where top notch guys and gals use these and mid-level 'other brands'. Bottom line is they work very well, as advertised, and keep my wife's ears safe when she comes along to train for EDC. While she is watching or waiting on me, she can browse her phone and take call while maintaining the safety of her precious ears. I've used them to compare to my more expensive protection and the ProHearing device is quite impressive at this price point. We both highly recommend this product. (Our pew pews are .380 and 9mm pistols, as well as a 10.5 AR15 with a flash forward device for range courtesy).

These did a great job of letting me hear what was going on while cutting out the loud noises. I did notice that they cut sound when I closed the bolt on my shotgun, which isn't very loud, but that doesn't bother me. They seem to do what is promised, letting you hear normal noises while cutting out the sound of gunshots. I didn't have any issue with these getting in the way of my cheek weld on my gunstock either. The gel earpads molded around my shooting glasses with no problems. No issues with these at all.

I wanted to like these but they simply did not lower the range noise to my expectations even on the lowest volume setting. I am 63 years old and need to preserve my hearing to the maximum extent. I switched to passive models and they muffle range noise much better for me.
