They definitely don't have latex, and they don't smell at all like chemicals. My daughter has super-sensitive skin and has not had any reaction at all. **Q: Do these have adhesive on the 'down side' (like a maxi pad) or do they just sit on top of the regular diaper? Do they shift or move overnight?** A: There is no adhesive. I think this is better, since extra urine can pass through the pad directly onto the diaper itself. We just position the pad inside the diaper, a little towards the front since our daughter tends to sleep on her tummy. It stays in position great. Just make sure the diaper comes up over the pad when you put it on. They work great! **Q: Do you recommend going up a size in overnight diapers to accommodate the pads? My son is in a size 5 and the size 6 is huge!** A: I started using this with the size 3 diapers that we normally use for my baby. I never had a leak, but I noticed the diaper was barely fitting with the pad, so I decided to buy size 4 diapers to use at night. By themselves, the diapers are too big for my baby, but with the pad the diapers fit perfectly. No bulk; not loose.
