How do you apply it? Does anyone use in the shower with your hands, or do you have to use a q-tip? If you use a wipe or pad, what kind and from where?

Put a small foamy drop, about the size of a dime/quarter on your finger tip and gently rub it back and forth against your eye lids (eye closed) for 10-20 seconds or so.  Then lean over the sink and use a cupped had to rinse your eye with warm water several times, or use it in the shower and rinse off with the shower spray.  Apply the long lasting eyes drops afterwards (see my review for recommended eye drops --- generic Polyethylene Glycol 400 0.4%; Propylene Glycol 0.3%   eye drops).

Does this help with dry eyes?

By cleaning your eyelids effectively it’s should help w inflammation along the lash line which is where your lubricating glands are. This in turn keeps the eyes natural lubricants flowing better which in turn can help w dry eyes.   Moist heat masks help too. As always check w your eye doctor but this is a regimen I believe everyone should do to maintain good eye health.

Can heat damage this product? (Package delivered to my roadside mailbox in 90 degree heat; left there for an hour)

Most over the counter pharmaceutical products must be stable to the expiration or best by date on the container in storage to 86 degrees, with occasional excursions for brief periods (1 to 2 hours) for delivery, car rides home etc.  An hour at 90 degrees (or even up to 96 degrees) should qualify as such an excursion.   However, if the cleanser does not look, feel, smell or dispense from the can in the way you would expect, I would contact the manufacturer.

Does this kill bacteria?

I can’t say that it kills bacteria for sure, but it is a foamy soap and you have to rub it on your eye lids and rinse. My doctor recommended it because of Covid-19 and I wear contact lenses every day. She also recommended it for people with dry eyes.
