8-Way Splitter
For those you are DIY individuals who happens to be DirecTV subscriber, this item is essential to convert the legacy system to SWM system. SWM allows you to set-up Whole Home DVR system and use the existing single RG6 cable to each room in your house. As signal comes in to the TV signal distribution box, this special splitter is needed to distribute the amplified signals from SWM box. This product is great and also was sent promptly by the seller. Pro: works as promised. Con: none; you need 90 degree F-Connector for the DC powered input to make the installation tidy. Recommended to buyers who understands the way SWM signal system works.

It works
The one I received was not as pictured (no DirecTV logo, made in China) and was purchased from Vista Distributing. It does however seem to work fine with my HD DVR Genie setup (HR44 and three C41 Mini clients). I do not have the equipment to see if my signal improved, stayed the same or degraded but the TV picture looks good. Will update review if I find otherwise.

Works perfectly, great replacement for 3/4 port
DirecTV tends to leave you with a splitter sized for the number of boxes you have, but this is a pain if you have a centralized wiring closet and move your boxes from time to time. I got this to replace the one DirecTV left me, which I believe is a 3/4 port. I plugged this one in with the same power inserter and it is working perfectly. The only comment I have is I am not sure if this is actually an 8 port or not, since the power inserter plugs into one of the ports (top-left red port). Not sure if that can be used for a TV so it may really be a 7-way splitter only.

Yes.
I have bought and used these over the years when needed for myself and when I did installs for others. It has one connection for sending a current out backwards to your amplifier at your attenna. Iโll buy this again when needed.

You will not get what is pictured.
Have not hooked it up yet; however, I feel it is important that you know that the one you receive will not be the one that is pictured. The one pictured is the one you get from Directv. The one you receive is similar to others that are for sale on amazon that have 9 ports on the top. Reading the other feedbacks, I am presuming it will work fine, but it is not what is advertised.

Does exactly what it says it will.
Other reviews mention it doesn't have DirecTV markings on it. Mine does and it works perfectly. I have 4 stationary receivers and a 5th that I move around from room to room for multiple tv setups from time to time so the 4 port splitter that DirecTV gave me was not getting the job done. I hooked this thing up and now I don't have to make repeated trips to the splitter to change which wires are connected. Mine also came with 7 or 8 f-type terminators attached which was an added bonus.

Worked perfect.
Didn't take much do. Powered everything down. Installed. Powered everything up. Everything worked. The end. 5 more words were required.

Upgraded to SWM
I combined this splitter with https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BBDHXLO/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_64 The splitter was probably overkill, as this is limited to 8 active tuners. Tuners is not equal to the number of cable runs required. With SWM each cable run can support multiple tuners. In the case of a Genie, a single cable run supports 5 tuners. This leaves only 3 open tuners from the 8. My old install had 3 HR21-HR24 dual tuner HDDVRs. I had to decommission two of the old tuners to enable the Genie to operate properly. With SWM enabled only a single cable is required to use both tuners on an HR24, and B-Band converters need to be removed. Each wired genie remote uses a connection on this splitter so at this point I am using 4 of the ports on this splitter. Don't listen to DirecTV when they tell you this cannot be done as a self install. There is some work involved but it is very achievable.
