DIY to restore battery to Switch Lite
We bought a used Switch Lite that wouldn't charge and was stuck with less than 10% battery. This battery replacement took me maybe 30 minutes - mostly due to managing small screws that I can barely see due to my old eyes. The other challenge was getting the battery removed from the tray. There were no instructions included, but you can search online for video samples of the steps.Steps to replace:Basically remove the 4 bottom screws with Y driver, then there are 2 small phillips screws surrounding the charging port and 2 more next to the buttons on the top side. Once screws are removed, you can use pry tool to split case from the bottom first (I inserted by speakers and worked from there). Then, once inside, there are 5 (even smaller) screws holding down a shiny metal housing. Remove the screws and pry up from the left to expose the battery. There is an orangish ribbon cable to left of the battery that has a small white hinge clamp. move the clamp from its position facing you 90 degrees to 12'o clock straight up, then the ribbon slips outs. That will give you access to the battery power cable, which can be carefully pried up to remove. now you are left with just the battery removal. They had a weird adhesive but the small metal instrument is meant to slip through underneath to separate the battery from the tray. I tried going all the way around it, but that didn't seem to help. What you need to do is go in from the bottom, get the blade started and force it all the way up underneath the battery. It is NOT a pry bar, you could break the tray if you try to pry it. the tool is meant to slice the adhesive backing between the tray and the battery. You will need 3 passes to get the adhesive separated. I would do left and right edge first, then the middle where you can shimmy it the rest of the way. Once the battery is free, remove adhesive backing on new battery, plop it in same spot, reattach the cables, the metal housing, then finally the plastic case and the 8 outside screws. Plug it in and you should be back in business. One more note, I don't know if you have to do this, but I removed both the game card and SD card prior to splitting the case. For the price and effort, it was well worth it.

Fine for a Beginner
My switch battery was completely fried. I was very disappointed that I would have to get a new switch, until I discovered that there was an alternative! I used this kit and a video from youtube, and changed out the battery myself. I am not a tech oriented person, but aside from how long it took to get the old battery up, it was relatively easy. Time consuming, and physically demanding at times, but procedurally easy.If you buy and replace it yourself, be careful not to accidentally set your hand on where the thermal paste is in the switch. It will squish out under the metal arm and get everywhere. Mine still works so I'm not that worried about the aesthetics, but I could forsee a situation in which more thermal paste would have to be ordered. But ultimately that has nothing to do with this kit, which as mentioned before, has everything that you need.

Great replacement battery pack
If your a first timer. I would recommend watching a you tube video if you have never replaced a battery before. It was not very difficult to replace. The tools that come with this kit is all you need to complete the battery replacement. I would buy this battery kit again.

Decent battery replacement, you MUST relearn battery memory if % is inaccurate
Originally - This battery did not last much longer than the one I replaced (which died within an hour of use, years old) from day 1, and seemed to get worse over a short amount of time. It would sit at 1% for a long time and apparently there's a procedure to re-learn the battery memory. Per the Nintendo site - fully charge battery, disable screen time out and let the device sit with the home screen on until the battery completely drains... repeat several times until battery % is accurate. Not doing this would make the console think the battery was too low to start even if it would sit at 1% for hours. The provided tools were good, it is a little difficult to replace this battery no matter what kit you get. Take time and care not to puncture the battery, especially with the metal tool provided.

Battery tool is $$
This is a great package. I've seen many videos with people struggling to get the battery out and even using solvents to help. The tool provided got it out perfectly for me without the use of liquids. Just some good force and the tool, and is cuts through the adhesive. Bends perfectly to get underneath.

Dead 3 months later
Bought it end of September, it just stopped working end of December. It says 0% battery. After powered reset the Switch will say 100% but then count down the % very fast until it reaches 0% in about a minute. Was fine installing with a YouTube tutorial but obviously the material is crap if it only lasts 3 months. Now I need to buy a different one and take apart the Switch again... waste of time and money.

Looks to be an OEM battery / Nintendo branded
Ok so general disassembly was not bad. The battery looks like it is a Nintendo logo battery so not an off brand. The tools were really tiny and difficult to work with. The "battery shovel" really was not helpful, it was pretty sharp as well and while trying to remove the battery it actually shaved off some of the paint on the housing. With that being said however the original battery is STUCK IN THERE GOOD! be prepared for a fight. Keep the switch flat while working on the removal so you do not twist the screen and crack it. if anything make sure you get a GOOD Y screwdriver those are the hardest to take out.

Fits perfect, works great
Does what it says on the tin, perfect fit and noticeably OEM quality. Took about 5 minutes to replace with the included tools. Not something you should try unless you are comfortable with electronics however. Lots of things you could break trying to fix it. Haha
