Review: Thomas the Tough Trike: A Wild Ride for Little Engineers - Oh boy, where do I even begin with this Thomas & Friends Toddler Tricycle Tough Trike? My little one's face lit up like a Christmas tree when they saw it, and since then, it's been all aboard the fun train! First off, the Thomas & Friends styling? Pure genius. It's like having your very own locomotive right in the driveway. My kid felt like the coolest conductor cruising around the neighborhood. The rugged tires and wide wheelbase? Let's just say, no pothole stood a chance. We navigated through rough terrain like it was a smooth railway track. Even those "mountains" of the driveway were conquered effortlessly. And the secret storage compartment under the seat? Talk about a game-changer. We've stashed snacks, toys, and even a couple of rocks (because, you know, toddlers). It's like having a secret treasure chest on wheels! But the best part? Those big foot pedals. My kiddo had a blast learning to pedal forward and backward, feeling like a master conductor in training. The pedals were just the right size for those tiny feet, making it easy for them to take control. And let's not forget the handlebar grips! Those little details in Thomas-themed design made the entire experience more immersive. It's like Thomas himself was guiding the way. In conclusion, this trike is the real deal for your little locomotive lover. It's durable, fun, and sparks imagination like nothing else. Plus, watching your child's face light up with joy? Priceless. But beware: you might find yourself humming the Thomas & Friends theme song on repeat! Review: Great! - Grandkids love these! They work great! We have several so the kids aren’t waiting and sharing! They race and ride all over the driveway together! Some assembly, but very easy to put together! These are the grandkids favorites! On step 5, when i am trying to tap the wheel cap with hammer, it is not fitting in. Please help.** A: What they said about having the wheels all down and if you're by yourself, I found if you drive your knee into the side that has a cap and then put the cap in place on the other side and hammer with the other hand, you can get the rod to stay enough to get the cap on. I managed to do it by myself after coming here for advice and not having anyone else to help. **Q: how tall does a toddler need to be? I've only seen ones my toddlers 34 inch tall total can't reach petals and roll thier feet and ankels under back** A: My grandson is 36" and can't reach the pedals. If day they have to be at least 3.5' tall. **Q: Will this work for a 3 year old or is it more for younger kids?** A: This should be a bike for 3-4 years - Not really for 2-5 as mentioned in the package. My relatively tall 27 month old still cannot reach the pedals. **Q: What is the weight limit for this bike?** A: The recommended weight limit for this product is 55 pounds. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thomas the Tough Trike: A Wild Ride for Little Engineers *by B***Y on December 23, 2023* Oh boy, where do I even begin with this Thomas & Friends Toddler Tricycle Tough Trike? We have several so the kids aren’t waiting and sharing! They race and ride all over the driveway together! Some assembly, but very easy to put together! These are the grandkids favorites! A great value! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My son cannot reach the pedals from the seat but he loves this trike so far!!!! *by L***E on March 26, 2011* First, I am always impressed with the quality of most Fisher Price toys. This one was no exception because my husband, who is very picky, initially remarked upon the quality and seeming durability of the plastic and we both noted it goes up to 55 lbs and age 6 which is great. My son is a bit taller for 1 than most kids and will be 2 in a few months anyway, so this gift was given early than the recommended age as he got his at nearly 21 months. At first, he could pretty much reach the pedals only because he is in a size 8.5 shoe and is a bit above average height. Now, he is can pedal better when he is far up from the seat because he has a long torso. So, while I recommend this trike, how well your child fits any trike is not just dependent on height, age and other physical attributes. They help a lot, though. When he first went out, I was happy to note it matched the colors of his Bell (age 3+) bike helmet, (which has monster trucks) on it perfectly and his head is the proper size to fit that now as it was nearly that size when we bought it over a year ago. And the helmet and trike are great together because my son watches Elmo and Barney from time to time and realizes you must wear a helmet. Plus, our neighborhood is about 99% without sidewalks and the state law where we live states that minors 15 and under must ride on the sidewalks and wear a bike helmet so, this helps a bit to get him ready for when he rides his bike with training wheels. Now, he and my husband have been outside to "trike" ride a few times and I nearly cried the first time I saw him peddling away as best he could but he was not sitting on the seat more up few inches from it. We bought this on sale last month when it was in the cart priced at $14.99 and we also used a - $10 off coupon that Amazon sometimes has in from Parents magazine, that was specifically for Amazon Mom's Baby Store, we had and got it for even less! Update: Sadly, after receiving gifts of a bike with trading wheels, a big-wheel trike with a low seat, and a pedal-powered go-cart my son cracked and broke his Thomas "Not-so-Tough" trike. It lasted until about late 2012 or early 2013...and yes, he was barely using it. I still think this trike is an amazing bargain at less than $35 with Prime membership, before taxes. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/256862-fisher-price-toddler-tricycle-thomas-and-friends-tough-trike-toy](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/256862-fisher-price-toddler-tricycle-thomas-and-friends-tough-trike-toy) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
