Does vacuum open or close the circuit? Will this work at a vacuum of 3 in?

Sorry,I have no idea.It makes it retard when starting and ideling and advance when driving.This part is for a harly davidson motorcycle.It does what it's suppose to do.Hubby thinks it opens the circuit.

Will this work on 1996 flstc

most of will the difference is in the length and ohms reading.It is e legal they are adjustable by removing the silicone plug.

Is this switch normally open or normally closed?

Not sure but if you apply vacuum to it it will switch from one to the other .
