This is one of the most overlooked vitamins out there. If you have joint problems, poor circulation, or are recovering from an illness, or even abuse, this is one vitamin you don't want to miss.It causes flushing and that's a good thing. That means it dilates microscopic blood vessels, improves circulation, which in turn makes your immune system a lot more efficient, and is overall one of the greatest discoveries for me.As for dosage, I was concerned about it being 500mg (the most I ever took was 250mg), but I recently learned that much higher dosages work even better! So I tried taking one pill in the AM and another one in the PM and felt better. Some, who have been in terrible shape or are recovering from an illness, are taking up to 3000mg per day. (Usually in three doses of 1000mg each).The flushing will be less pronounced as you continue taking it; that does not mean Niacin is not working, just that your body is using it more efficiently. It is also a sign that you can increase the dosage, if you think you need more of it.My impression is that true benefits start at 1000mg / day.On a spiritual level, improving circulation will strengthen one's aura which helps in many ways.

Solaray is a good brand. Just didn't realize when I ordered that this was an extended-relase niacin, so the flush isn't as intense as with the regular niacin (tho it's still def there). That may a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how much the flush bothers you. For me, it can be uncomfortable, but it's nice to know it's working, and also, I guess I prefer to have it be full and quick and let it be over instead of irritating a little bit for hours. It's definitely less noticeable if you take it with food.

Just recieved today. Took my first 500mg dose at dinner time. The "flush" i read about had me in an anxiety attack from the moment i took the pill. About an hour later, the flush started. I lied in bed on my back worrying when it started. My skin on my entire upper torso started to get hot, very hot. As I lie there i realize it feels just like a sunburn (minus the pain). I started to relax and just let the experience happen. Call me weird, but by the time it was over i was so relaxed because feeling like im sunburned reminds me of summer. And i thouroughly enjoyed the flush. I hope the flushes stick around fir a while.

I have taken Niacin for years and this one seems to be effective and economical

After reading the book niacin the real story I learned how impossible it is to get enough of niacin in your diet from the foods we eat. I sleep better now. I feel great and am not depressed. I love the flush feels great especially in the winter.Taking double the amount of vitamin c with this can help prevent allergic reactions according to Dr Hoffer. It also makes it so I don't get itchy from the heat of the flush.I take 2.5 grams per day one gram after a meal.Hoffer suggest you take 3 grams a day with each meal. He treated schizophrenia patients and cured them with niacin and Cured many. If you take too much you will get nausea and may puke so just take a little less the next day.If you don't like the flush you can slowly increase dose and the flush will not be as intense. Also when you take it everyday you won't flush. Flushing will go away.Works best with a b complex I suggest a '100`

When we bought this, I thought I’d ordered Niacinamide for skin cancer prevention. When it arrived, we thought, “Niacin is in multivitamins so it can’t hurt”. My husband took one. Within minutes he began to feel flushed and prickly in the face. In another 5 minutes he was passed out on the floor. He only lost consciousness for a few moments and was back to normal within hours. But it nearly scared us to death. It turns out there is a thing called ‘Nuacin flush”. Google it. We assume that’s what happened to him but it could’ve been a bad batch. We threw away the whole bottle. And we’ll buy our nutritional supplements from the pharmacy from now on.

This is one of my go to brands for bottled flush niacin, & it gets the job done fast. Love it & depend on it to clean the pipes ;)
