Such an improvement from the crusty, dusty peppers I’ve been using. These were large, pliable, fragrant, and flavorful. I’ll never go back to what I was using.

Came quickly for recipe we really wanted to try and weren't sure if they were available near us. They're milder, not a spicy hot type of dried pepper, flavor was not bitter and freshness date was sometime in 2026, I did check it but can't remember exact date. They were used in a new red sauce recipe with dried guajillo peppers we already had on hand so can't comment on individual flavor but we liked the sauce. Would order again.

DO NOT take this pepper lightly, as I did. Some of you out there are pepper aficionados and hardcore anything spicy users, but this seemed a harmless thing to me. Later, after the chili was simmering for a day and a half, it appeared ready for dinner, later on, which we won't cover, but let's just say "imagine a dragon breathing fire". I think I used most of the bag, that was my mistake and also scoffing at the little dried peppers as if they were children on a playground and of no consequence to my taste buds. Use with care, even the manly man should be careful of these. Aside from all of the above warnings, they are good and kick it up a notch or seven!!

I use these peppers to make my own hot sauce, and they're quite flavorful without having overwhelming zing to them.
