**Q: Could I use this to extend standard solid-base mic stand by connecting two poles  together?**
A: You should be able to as long as your mic stand uses  standard threading, which it should :D

**Q: Do you know the thread size, is it the same as the standard desk stand-  5/8" diameter X 27 threads per inch?**
A: standard microphone thread

**Q: Does anyone else have an issue turning or angling the mic with this on it?**
A: I don't have any issues. My Shure SM7B is on a Blue Compass boom arm and you can easily adjust the mic anyway you like. Sorry you're having trouble.

**Q: Are both threads 5/8 inch standard?**
A: Yes.  Same threading at male and female ends.

Because of the build of the SM7B, it does not have full rotation when paired with the Rode PSA1, which is an excellent mic boom arm. This piece allows the mic to have full rotation without hitting the mic boom at all.
