I was waiting for a bit to check and work this Corkscrew before writing a review. It very hard to use and as a result the most of the times the cork breaks. I dumped it in the kitchen and I use the old one I have. I will have to purchase a new corkscrew.

There are a lot of fancy $40 wine openers on the market these days. That's absolutely ridiculous. I guess people just don't know how to do stuff anymore and then in the machine to do it for them. If you are old school like me and know how to use a wine opener, this is great value. It looks nice. And it works like a charm with some extra little features, like the spring loaded front razor which allows to open about half the the cork with ease. The tinfall cutter is also really sharp and works very well.

I had a few corkscrews in the drawer that worked like this one, but I noticed that the corkscrew part was bent! These were either old tools or not very good quality. I went back to Amazon for an upgrade. I am more than pleased with the HiCoup corkscrew. It is not only attractive and well made, but works just like the instructions. I bought two! These corkscrews will be around for a long time....and no damage from use.

Just got this today. What a lovely, well engineered tool. I noticed reviews of other corkscrews mentioned poor finish and flaws. Not with this one, it is a delight to see and comfortably smooth to hold. At this price it’s a steal and you can’t go wrong.
