Is the item authentic?

Yes. Mine arrived in the original cellophane box and it is the same product available at Dillard's, Nordstrom's etc. I ordered the 100 ml size on December 20, 2013.

Is it at all reminiscent of the male version of Burberry touch?

They are fairly different scents. I would describe the Men's fragrance as "refreshing" while the Women's version is very warm and musky. I wear it in the Fall/Winter since it is a heavier scent. It is one of my all-time favorites.
