Those spikes...
Back when Dime was still around they had the lightning one on display in my local store. Why on earth would anybody buy this huge thing full of wood and spikes was beyond me. Then, as you get older and even more so appreciate Dimes skills after 10 beers on youtube, I found myself sipping and staring as this thing in want. A few delayed air travel compensations later I could afford one and chose this one. The reason mainly being it having 2 pickups, over the other current line Dimebags, which has only the bridge pickup. I also chose this over the other option of Brent Hinds signature, the main reason being I wanted to improve in the style of Darrel. These guitars, as also other Vs are made perfectly for playing like Dime does. Standing up, with the classical left hand grip (no thumb over baseball). Two of my other guitars (Ibanez S, Jackson Dominion) do not work well in that style, they are neck heavy, this is not. Because of all the spikes and thorns at the end of the body, the weight rotates the neck up and also pushes it up. Basically if you fret the first fret, standing up with groin level rockness guitar height, your left hand would be at your belt, far to the left. Because of this design, the left hand is now up and closer to your body, chest high almost, making it much easier to play with the left hand, with no awkward bending at the wrist. Also because of that, the high frets are at bellybutton height and not groin height, which also makes it a much more natural grip, perfect for the classical grip drama. Check out some videos of Dime and compare it to eg Slash and check where their left hands are and their different grips, so you get the picture. That design was pretty much the main reason i bought this. I have a Jackson V, which does that in a similar way, but not as nice as this one. Tone wise, the diversity you get out of the pickups is pretty impressive. The bridge custom Dime thing is hot, but not as dry and overly so as an EMG (they are passive), the neck pickup is the complete opposite, dark and singing. You can dial in any combination between the two, which gives a lot of room for nice sounds, not just Pantera sounds but also Blues and nice cleans. Construction wise, there was not a single complain, tuners, tremolo, all nice and tight, fretwork without any complain, and the neck plays great. Also the cutout above the bridge doesn't get me numb right wrist as the V does after an hour of playing, which is another nice bonus. It comes with Dime Strings, which are also excellent. Overall, yes, it looks special, but it plays very very comfortably, has great tonal range and is built in the same quality as more expensive competitors. I decided to leave a review to show my appreciation for Dean for still making these and maybe somebody will pick one of these instead of a Strat of Les Paul.

Finally got this and man was it worth the wait. Between the DimeSlime and DimeBolt, I always wanted one watching Dimebag shred as I was growing up. The quality is 100%. The sound is 100%. The playability and action are amazing but the case is complete junk but I’m not going to ding the rating based off of that.

Floods
The girls just come in flocks now that I own this dimeslime stealth. Seriously, this thing will melt your face off. If you can handle the heat then buy this bad Mammer Jammer. The sound is amazing, the hardware is sweet and I love the paint

Buy it!
I decided to do the responsible thing with my money and i spent a chunk of my tax return on this! Best decision i have ever made! This guitar is the bees knees. Didn’t need to adjust the setup at all, just tuned and everything was ready to go. Plays amazing, sounds amazing. If you are a fan of dime you need at least one dean in your collection.

My favorite guitar if not defective
I got two of these in both colors. But I bought them outside Amazon by communicating diligently with owner and finding out everything about the guitar because I ordered one here and got an unplayable instrument. First. the bridge was misplaced. You can see alot of that going on if you just browse the internet for pictures. In my case I couldn't even intonate first string perfectly. Second. The wood body was made from was very light resulting in a horrible neck dive. The two stealths i got dont have neck dives. They are heavy. The Amazon one weighed like a toy. Also because of wrong wood used the sustain was absent. This is a shame for Korean manufacturing to be doing such big crucial mistakes. I assume the Stealths that been made two years or more earlier have good quality and the ones that are made now are garbage.

Plays great. Had to request a return because of a crack in the body due to a overtightened pickup. But was sent another before I even sent first one back.

Great signature “dimebag” slime
Dean stealth Dimeslime , Arrived before expected. Got this on a deal , sweet price drop. Made in Korea ... beware the Chinese’s lower models.... this one has Fat sound derived from the maple cap /Mahogany body and neck. Seymour Duncan dimebuck in the bridge and dimetime in the neck are awesome with ebony fretboard .....Be aware the neck pickup is phase reversed, a switch installed would make this selectable, although it is authentic to dimebag. Great purchase. Recommend this model.
