From left to right, one is for power (which is lit always), the middle is for hot water and the third is for cold water. The hot water and cold water lights only come on when it is actively working on making temperature related water. Once it is to temp, the light turns off. **Q: Can you turn the hot and cold water on at the same time on the side? Or is it only one at a time?** A: You can do both at the same time. I try that maneuver now and then and end up spilling most of the water down my arm. The motor when it goes on, is excessively loud. With the drip tray installed, a 500ml water bottle does not fit under the spout. The spout is difficult to see because of the black plastic housing. The water out of the hot tap tastes plastic-y even though I used a full 3 gallon bottle to rinse. The water is dispensed with 3 push buttons - can see them failing over time.
