Planet Audio AC1200.2 2 Channel Car Amplifier - 1200 High Output, High/Low Level Inputs, High/Low Pass Crossover, Hook Up to Subwoofer for Bass

I purchased this amp by recommendation from a professional installer/retail outlet. Of course I purchased the unit from amazon. He told me amazon was selling this amp BELLOW his cost. I currently have three amps in my car system. This one was for my 6x9 polk audios. I use the built-in high pass crossover set at about 100-110 hertz. About 99% of the amps out there use peak ratings instead of RMS which is what they use on all home equipment. Typically, regardless of manufacturer. they are about 1/3 or in some cases 1/5th the peak rating in actual rms. By comparison, Planet audio rates their amps at about 85% or higher in rms. For example, this amp is 1200 peak/600 watts peak per channel x two (stereo). But the rms is 485 watts x two. I have a PYLE 1000 peak/500 watt peak per channel x two & the rms is a pitiful 145 watts rms. Now figure that one out for yourself...do you want 485 watts rms per channel or 145? They are also smaller in size, cleaner in thd (.01), better in signal to noise ratio (110). All this stuff amounts to an amplifier that is nearly double or better in quality than any amp out there at nearly double the price. An added feature is a control knob you can mount anywhere in reach to turn the bass up or down ten decibels. Whats neat is that it uses a standard telephone cable that is supplied & if something were ever to happen to your original wire, any telephone cable would replace it. To put it bluntly, you would be a complete moron to buy any other brand of amp with very, very few exceptions (American Bass for example is better but BOY are you gonna pay more).

I am an old-school guy where I normally stick the name brands that I know but I gave planet audio a chance and I’m glad I did. Paired this amp up with two planet audio 10 inch subwoofers in my car sounds amazing. It’s not gonna win any competitions or shake the rest off, but it’s the perfect amount of base you want. It’s hard with rock and you get that nice long deep base with hip-hop running 210 inch running parallel bridge off one channel.

I bought this amplifier to power 2 x 12" 300 watt RMS subwoofers, I used it for a couple of weeks and decided to return it. The amplifier is fused at 1 x 35 amp fuse. If you need an amp that will do 350 - 400 watts RMS this is a good choice, had I not needed more power I definitely would have kept it, it worked great while I had it, never overheated, or went to protect even when pushing it to it's limits. Just be mindful of what you're actually buying and you'll have zero problems!

At first i was worried that this amp wouldn't do anything at all because of all the horrible reviews i read during research but the price and specs were just right. therefore i gave it a try and this amp does more than what i need it to do. i have it running on two 12 inch Alpine BassLine subs which i recommend to anyone because of high quality and low price. i previously had a pioneer amp that worked perfect but this amp is surprisingly better. planet audio is definitely underrated and i will buy from them again. only downfall is that i personally don't think it does 1200 watts max but the amp still kicks very well. Very nice product.

After but less then a hour of install my AMP overheats so quick about 20 mins after bumping and this thing shuts down and cuts off. I checked my ground wire, and all the things normally to see if it was anything else but my last amp was 600W kicker and it never once overheated with the same wire and setup. I either got a bad amp or the quality cant handle two 12'' subs. Very disappointed. My last amp was old and needed upgrading. Guess ill save up for a better quality.

Was sceptical at first. I have always used Alpine but thought i would try this out in my new Dodge Charger and if i wasn't impressed I would put it in my boat and go back to Alpine for my car. This amp is awsome. Im pushing one 10" Alpine type S which has a 800 watt max. I have the amp at half power and its perfect. I love having the adjustment dial up front. Really nice quality and looks great. Its insane that it was so cheap. My buddy is HARDCORE ALPINE and made fun of me when I ordered it. He was very surprised when he heard it considering he has a 500$ Alpine amp running the same sub and his sound is the same. I would definitely buy another PA product.

Where to start. I've waited some time to do this review just to really get the amp going. I have it hooked up to two Rockford Fosgate P1s in a horrible box. Although this amp is pretty much a perfect pair for these subs because the subs themselves aren't power hungry... Pretty fast shipping, under standard by a few days. That's cool. But here's the deal about 3 stars it's all of a sudden started cutting out, subs boom, stop working. I have yet investigate because I'm driving when it happens. Not a bunch does this happen, but it's getting worse. The 40$+ I spent on this, along with fast shipping has earned it the 3 stars. I will update if anything happens.

This amp is fantastic, and really will push your subs and produces quality sound. I love the low pass filter I have this powering two 12s, and ordered some 12 inch planet audio subs which meet this amps specs, and very excited to throw those in. If your thinking about buying this amp. DO IT!! I've researched for a couple solid months, very happy with this purchase, and it arrived fast. Amazing product.

Just installed this amp into my truck, wired it to 2 10” DVC 4ohm Rockford shallows, and I’m pretty impressed with this amplifier, it powers them plenty and still has a lot more to go! All and all this amp is awesome for the price, doesn’t break the bank.. my only con about this amp is the size of it, wish it was smaller so I could install it in a spot harder to see, but I found a spot that worked so I’m happy!

Does the job for the money the bass controller it came with dosnt work though

Amp works great so far , installed it myself last week powering a a shallow 10"pioneer sub that I also bought in here . Both sub and amp sound great. Only down fall is the remote bass switch in the amp kit does sweet eff all * update the remote bass switch does work you just need to change the frequency button on the amp*

Absolutely horrible! Do not waste money even thinking this amp will power any type of system you’re installing. I received this in great time but the product itself is not good at all. Says 1200 watt power output... lol I ran it on a dyno and you’re lucky to get 80 watts total out of this pos... I can’t believe planet audio is selling these re-skinned amps and calling it whatever they want. Complete rip off! DO NOT BUY!!!!

Fully happy with the performance in my workshop. The actual output is nowhere near the claim, but the features work well for my situation.
