The chest strap should be thoroughly wet to enable it to give accurate readings. Please insure that you attach the HRM to the chest belt with the Sparked Logo facing upwards. On the back you will also see the Left and Right markings to indicate how the HRM should be attached. If you still receive erratic readings, please replace the battery (CR2032).

Initial pairing problem due to user error; works great now
Disappointed. Would not pair with my HTC One M8. Phone sees device but will not pair after many attempts. Tried pairing with Endomond, that did not work either. Other bluetooth devices pair successfully with my phone.Edit 04/17/2016 - Turns out I was using wrong pairing procedure.My mistake was trying to pair in the phone's BT settings. That is how pairing worked a couple years ago, the last time I used my Zephyr HRM. The correct procedure is to simply turn on the phone's BT, then go to your compatible fitness app. When I did this, the Sparked HRM paired instantly in Endomondo. Sparked customer support was very responsive and resolved the issue promptly.

Works great, but don't wash / dry the strap in your washing machine. I screwed mine up pretty bad, but it still works after a little gorilla glue.

Excellent value for the price
Excellent value for the price, easy installation and good operability with my Android device (currently Motorola X) and the app I use (Endomondo).

Didn't work.
As others have reported, I tried 20 or 30 times to get it to connect with my android phone via bluetooth, and it never did.

Cannot recommend product, but co. did respond to review via email.
Don't work. Won't connect to anything. Tried 5 or 6 different apps. Even replaced the battery. Very disappointed. Returning item. Going back to my Zephyr, at least it works some of the time.Edit: a customer service rep has been responsive to this review since originally posted. Still no luck after troubleshooting, but credit to them for their service. Would give 5 stars for that at least.

It took me a good hour to get it to connect to my phone
First of all...what a pile of junk.When I first got it, I was excited to try it out. It took me a good hour to get it to connect to my phone. Yes, I realize it's a BT SMART device and only works with supported apps. I saw a recommendation to disconnect it for a while and try again and this did not work. I had to remove the battery then reinstall it to get it working.I got a run in and it recorded the whole time.The next day (today) I put it on thinking all was good since I had checked it before my run. I did my run, came home, and nothing was recorded.I've used these style straps for years, I'm not new to them. I used a Polar strap with a Polar watch before. I decided to try a cheap strap and boy did I actually pay for it that decision. If I have to reseat the battery before every run, I will not use this strap.I think I will stick with the tried and true and grab a Polar BT strap.

Liked the product very much
Product was offered at a discount in exchange for a review.Liked the product very much. Was easy to synchronize with my "map my run" app. Haven't used it much, but so far so good.
