Wonderful flavor, high quality, highly recommend!
I bought this and ended up discovering two uses for it: as a skin moisturizer and for cooking. I used it for cooking at first and I loved the flavor it added to the dishes I cooked. The texture and appearance was solid at first (when stored in the fridge) but then when set in a heated pan it turned into a fatty liquid. Cooking ability was great! I simply scooped it out of the jar, weighed / measured it out, and set it in the pan. Very easy to use. It's a fat of course, so in terms of cleanliness it does have an oily residue. If you get it on your hands it's quite oily. A friend of mine from Poland recommended I look into applying this as a moisturizer, which I questioned at first... But after a week of applying this to my face I noticed a DRASTIC improvement of my skin tone and health. I smelled kind of like beef for a while though so... Use this as a beauty product at your own discretion haha...

Beef Tallow Beauty: Who Knew I'd Want to Smell Like a Snack?
Whoever said beauty is pain never tried slathering their face with EPIC Beef Tallow. Yes, you read that rightโI bought a jar of grass-fed beef fat not for my kitchen, but for my face. Why? Because apparently, I like to moisturize like a pioneer woman. Let me set the scene: There I was, whipping up a batch of face cream as if I was churning butter in the old West. The result? A surprisingly delightful whipped tallow that might make you momentarily feel like a walking hamburger. But fear notโthe burger aroma is fleeting, leaving behind only the subtle whisper of a grill on a summer day. Now, before you judge, let me just sayโmy skin? Glowy. Radiant. Practically beaming enough to light up a room. This beef tallow turned out to be the unspoken hero of skincare, minus the minor inconvenience of smelling like a fast-food joint during the application process. But hey, small price to pay for turning back the clock and making my skin look like I drink from the Fountain of Youth, right? So, if you're adventurous in your skincare regime and don't mind a brief stint as a human barbecue, give EPIC Beef Tallow a whirl. Turns out, the secret to glowing skin was in the meat aisle all alongโwho knew?

Amazing Quality and Healthy new staple in my kitchen!
I recently discovered EPIC Beef Tallow, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. The quality is outstandingโit's made from grass-fed beef, making it a healthier option for my family. The fact that it's keto-friendly and Whole30 approved is a huge plus for our dietary needs. The tallow has a wonderful, clean taste that enhances the flavor of everything I cook. I've used it for frying, roasting vegetables, and even in baking, and it always delivers fantastic results. The 11oz jar is a perfect size, and it lasts quite a while since a little goes a long way. One of the best things about this product is its versatility. Whether you're on a specific diet or just looking for a high-quality cooking fat, EPIC Beef Tallow is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to add a nutritious and delicious fat to their cooking or skincare routine.

My experience....
Given the wide ranging reviews and the fact that the product is non-refundable, I felt it could go either way for me. But I took the chance. Leaking, unsealed jars: If your's arrives this way, contact Amazon. It IS a food product after all. Maybe with enough complaints about unsealed and leaking jars, Amazon can intervene on the buyers behalf. I was all set to lodge a complaint (a complaint, not just asking for a refund) about the inconsistency in product integrity but I cannot as my jar arrived sealed and vacuumed with two layers of bubble wrap. Color of the tallow: My jar is not as pale as the seller pics but not as yellow as posted reviews. This is also an unbleached product, clearly stated. Too, different cameras, monitors, etc. show color so many different ways. More liquified than solid: The top half of my jar was more liquidy than the bottom half. It's a fat. At room temp and warmer I guess I would expect that. I remixed the entire jar. No issues. Grainy, not smooth: It does look grainy for sure. I bought it mostly for skin care. Though it looks grainy, there is no grit at all. It melts nice and smooth on the skin so I'm sure it would in a pan too. Smell/odor: It's undeodorized cow fat. It does have an amount of odor. I call it "slight". After a minute or two I couldn't smell it on my skin. I'm not saying I'd slather it on for date night lol but the odor just is what it is. Expiration date: My jar is Jan 2025. If using for cooking that is plenty of time to use the jar. For skin care... I'll find out. I'm refrigerating my jar. It's my first jar so I cannot compare it to previous purchases. I do wonder if others have bought bleached, deodorized products, tallow that's been whipped smooth, or in some way are not comparing apples to apples. All in all this is a good product in my opinion. I'll probably start cooking with it as well.

It made my food taste like furniture polish (smell of)
Tallow arrived fine in 2 days (Prime), 10:30am, Fri, 08Jul2016. I cooked fried chicken with it 10 hours later (8:30pm, 08Jul2016). I am writing this review about 10pm, 08Jul2016. Let me say right up front, it didn't smell or taste beefy at all. BUT, it did make my food taste funny (down right disgustingly nasty). Keep reading, it gets better... I only ordered this tallow because I ran out of my favorite organic lard (pig fat) (Tendergrass Farms), and the lard won't arrive for another week or so (non Prime item). Because, the tallow was 2-day Prime, I figured i would take a chance and use the tallow as a quick substitute for the lard to make my delicious fried chicken. That was a VERY VERY BAD idea. Two issues... (smoke point, and taste) The Jar says "high smoke point." Me being me, I tested that statement. Most online smoke point charts list the beef tallow smoke point ranging from 400ยฐ-420ยฐF (204-216ยฐC). This product smoked pretty heavily at 360ยฐF (182ยฐC). Personally, i don't consider 360ยฐF a high smoke point. Given the 40ยฐF difference between 360ยฐ and the 400ยฐF temp; I wonder, is there something non organic added to this tallow that caused it to smoke so early? Who knows? On a side note, I cook my fried chicken between 335-350ยฐF. Issue 2... (flavor/taste) Although the chicken came out crispy and nicely browned, the taste of the chicken was disgusting. It literally tasted like the smell of furniture polish. If that sounds odd, then imagine the smell of furniture polish, now "mentally" put it in your mouth. Yes, that's what the tallow made my chicken taste like. I forced down one piece of chicken (because it cost money), but threw the second piece in the trash. I couldn't stomach that disgusting flavor anymore. Dude, what is up with your Tallow? Instead of beef tallow, it should be called "beef foul o'" That was really bad stuff. I'll have to write this off as a $15 loss. I will wait for my favorite lard to arrive, which always makes my chicken and other meats come out tender, juicy and delicious, like no other oil can do (so far). You've been WARNED!!

My Secret Brisket Weapon
Oh, the magic of tallow in smoking brisket! It's become my secret weapon, elevating my brisket to a level that's truly over the top. When it comes to barbecue, I believe that the devil is in the details, and tallow has become an integral part of my smoking process. I follow a meticulous method: smoking my brisket to a mouthwatering 170 degrees before wrapping it loosely. I'm a stickler for that perfect balance of crispy bark and succulent meat, which is why I opt for a light application of tallow on the top, but I get generous with it on the sides and bottom. Cooking fat cap down has always been my preference, and it pairs perfectly with the tallow's magic. As for the finishing touch, I usually aim for around 202 degrees, though I rely heavily on the tactile test as well. This careful approach, combined with the liberal use of tallow, consistently results in a brisket that outcooks my friends at our friendly cookoffs. It's that golden combination of technique, timing, and the right ingredients that sets my brisket apart. Tallow has truly become my not-so-secret weapon in the world of brisket smoking, and it's one of those game-changers that I'm happy to share. It's all about those extra touches that make a big difference, and tallow, in my opinion, is the ace up my sleeve when it comes to crafting unforgettable brisket. So, if you're looking to up your brisket game and leave your friends in awe, give tallow a try โ you won't be disappointed!

Eh
Smells bad. I used it for cooking maybe 4 times. Not really into the smell. Threw it away. It might be great to other people, but it just wasnโt for me.

Amazing healthy substitute to dangerous cooking oils and seed oils. 10/10
Excellent substitue to the dangerous seed oils and chemicals used to cook these days. No taste compensation. Great smoke point (less smokey while cooking). I cook steaks, sausages, eggs, ribs, etc etc which is almost everything using this and it all comes out beautifully. It comes in liquid format coz it melts obviously (FAT). Refridgerate and it should last you well. Love this and will keep ordering this <3

The best until now was coconut oil
Have very dry skin and tried numerous skin products over the years, I work in a factory and it gets cold and drys my skin. The best until now was coconut oil. Then I found out about tallow! I mix this with some cedar oil and use as moisturiser. By far the best I have ever use. Skin no longer dry.
