Gen 1.0 advertises an effective area of 10ft. This one says it's effective up to 15ft. So I'd guess it might be operating at a higher temp to diffuse more of the repellent. I notice they applied to the feds a new version in June 2020 that supports wireless recharging & empty cartridge...
