Has anyone used both this and the tubshroom for a month or more each? Which do you prefer? The shape of this looks easier to clean

I tried both and liked this one better. The tubshroom worked but wouldn't clean and quickly got too gross to use. This one worked well for us, i.e. stays in place, catches all the hair, lets water through and cleans up to like new. Maybe it has to do with sink or tub shape?

The dimensions shown are 4.5x4.5x2. It fits over my Kohler pop-up drain and it is working quite well at catching hair.

Would this be heavy enough to keep sewer roaches from getting in? We have drain covers but they have no weight to them and they are still coming up.

This drain protector is much heavier than the flimsy ones you get at the big box stores. They in my opinion those nasty would have a hard time, but I would be checking for a hole in my pipe. They shouldn't be coming up like that.

Can it be used over a flat drain as well? I have a walk in shower with a flat drain surface. I would like to give me dog a bath in there.

A dog could certainly move it depending on how active it is, but if it isn't touched it stays in place. It doesn't float up and float away like some do.

I would rate this product 5 stars but it unfortunately keeps having a mold problem. I can't seem to get rid of the black spots despite trying a variety of cleaning agents.
