10 out of five service
Full 5 star + I am delighted with the camera. Very impresive and extreamly well built robust camera, easier to set up then I had expected. works perfect in our Koi pond. We can keep an eye on the fish and water quality close up with clear vision , relax and enjoy watching their antics whilst sitting in door keeping warm through winter. (and summer). Would certainly recommend as a good buy and investment. Customer service I found also to be obove and beyond , I had an issue to overcome (sales related not the camera or Barlus). The initial response time from Barlus was within the half hour which was impressive for a start, within a few minuites an offer of a solution was put forward to which Barlus had no liability to offer and totally un- expected. Barlus service desk - despite this not being their problem did everything to resolve the situation. I now have the perfect camera to carry out the funtions I needed. Highly delighted with both product and service. My thanks goes out to Alex who assisted through the process. very happy customer

Excellent picture quality!
I purchased this underwater camera so that I could view my fish in there natural habitat, I must say I’m very impressed, it is a little difficult to set up on the pc if you’re not computer minded however a quick email to Barlus and they used teamviewer to take control of my pc and did it for me, overall I am extremely happy and would definitely recommend this product, it also has an app that you can download that is very easy to set up although all you can really do in the app is view etc, you cannot change parameters of the camera in the app which is a shame because I’d like to be able to switch to infrared from the app so I can view them at night too, but aside from this I’m very happy with my purchase

Superb Quality, Superb Support
Absolutely everything about this camera exudes quality, the camera construction, the picture resolution, and the sales/technical support. If you are looking for an underwater camera that delivers in every aspect I cannot recommend this camera highly enough. We had a specific technical requirement for our camera to capture the wildlife in a fast-flowing river. Tim Gao, head of sales, delivered a custom camera configuration for us and organised for remote technical support to assist in the camera setup. Nothing was an issue and Tim could not have been more helpful. We have now just ordered a second camera to complement the first one.

Great Underwater Camera
First off, this is a fantastic camera, there is no question about that. I am sure the reviewer that had his camera melted (other reviews) had his problem sorted out. The software supplied is adequate, and being able to stream from anywhere in the world is always a bonus. Now the negatives. Support isn't always fantastic, but if you have problems, get in touch with sales. They will help you get your problem resolved one way or another. If Barlus can sort out their support a little better, it would be fait accompli.

Outstanding experience from the very beginning!
The day the camera arrived, I was contacted proactively by customer support — a rare and very welcome surprise. Despite the time zone differences, communication was prompt and helpful. Installation was smooth thanks to the clear manual, and the included software provides plenty of options for fine-tuning the settings. Image quality is excellent; running at 6MP with the H.265X codec delivers flawless performance. The camera can be powered via PoE or the included power adapter — both work reliably. The unit itself, including the mounting bracket, feels sturdy and of high quality. It features both IR and white LEDs, offering flexible lighting support for dark environments. The camera has been running continuously without a single issue and streams motion-triggered footage directly to my NAS exactly as intended. With its rich set of configuration options, it’s easy to tailor the camera to your specific needs. Overall, an impressive product that offers great value for money, backed by outstanding customer service.

Impressive clarity and rock-solid build quality!
I bought this Barlus underwater camera for my koi pond, and it has exceeded my expectations. The 5MP resolution provides a crystal-clear 1440p image, and the 100° wide-angle lens captures everything happening in the pond perfectly. The stainless steel housing feels very durable and premium, which gives me peace of mind for long-term underwater use. Setting it up via POE was straightforward, and the 32ft cable was more than enough for my setup. The fill light is a great touch for night viewing—my fish look amazing even after dark! If you’re looking for a high-quality, reliable underwater camera for a pond or pool, this is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommended!

Excellent Camera. Excellent Support
I tried several other cameras before finding Barlus - The Barlus 316L is by far the best I have found. My experience with the cameras has been excellent. I have 6 of them installed in the ocean at the end of a 175ft dock in about 10 ft of water, and 1 about 350 ft from shore at a depth of 35ft. The camera body is extremely solid stainless steel construction. It is sturdy and comes with its own mounting bracket. It has held up well in the ocean including during big storms. The image quality in reasonable light is very good. It comes with small LED+infrared lights, but I found these less useful and don't use them much as I have bright underwater lights under the dock). The support was excellent - when I reached out with questions they responded quickly and were very helpful in helping me address the issue. For me the only slight negative of the cameras is that the interface to configure them is a bit dated. It requires a MS windows-based browser with ActiveX support. Despite that it is quite functional and surprisingly configurable. I access the cameras using RTSP (which was very simple to setup). I would strong recommend these cameras to anybody looking for solid, reliable, excellent quality underwater cameras at a reasonable price.

It's a solid camera, but you might need to have some technical chops to get it working
I originally gave this camera 1 star because it's a super nice piece of gear but we encountered a ton of issues trying to set it up. I'm adding two more stars -- one because once it's working, it works well, and another because tech support was quick and responsive. First issue: As shipped, the camera is configured for a fixed IP address 192.168.1.10. We first tried to connect the camera directly to a Mac, but got stuck when it insisted on downloading Windows software. We then connected it to the network and learned that the browser-based configuration only works from IE. After several false starts, we managed to get it working on our network. We later learned there was a beta version of VMS for Mac OS X on the included thumb drive which may or may not have made things easier. Note that if your internal network is *not* on the 192.168.1/24 segment *or* if you already have a 192168.1.10 device on your network, you're going to have to do some configuration work somewhere before you can start talking to the camera. Second issue: There are no obvious instructions on how to reset the camera back to factory defaults. We learned there's a utility on the included thumb drive that would let us do this. Third issue: Our internal network is 172.30.1/24. We wanted to have our DHCP server assign a fixed IP address by Mac address but couldn't get it to work. We kept checking the "Use DHCP" option, but the device repeatedly ended up using some random address. We ended up disabling DHCP on the camera, setting it to a fixed IP, and reserving that IP on our DHCP server to avoid future conflicts. Fourth issue: The DIY troubleshooting available from the "Get Support" link on Amazon is written for a completely different camera and does not apply. If I could only make one suggestion to the seller, it would be a rewrite of the documentation that comes in the box -- especially where platform-specific steps are required. Digging through the apps and readmes on the thumb drive just wasn't a user-friendly experience. Final assessment: I'm pretty happy with the camera now that it's working and I'd definitely look at this brand for other camera needs... but it took several hours of head-scratching to increase my level of confidence.

No response from tech support/Difficult set up
No tech support. The directions for the software that you download do not match the actual software that comes with the camera. That being said, there is nobody to connect with for tech-support other than emailing China with no response! The camera looks well-made, but setting it up is impossible and there is no support to do so. So frustrating. Will likely have to return and switch manufacturers.
