Absolutely! I used this on my three dogs, ages 5, 10, and 17. All had much cleaner teeth and no more bad breath after about a month. It could take more or less time, depending on how much plaque there was to start with. Remember, this is working from within the dog's system. The antibacterial substance is ingested and absorbed, and over time it changes the chemistry of the dog's saliva, which gradually dissolves the plaque. I highly recommend it. The vet even commented on how good my dog's teeth looked. As a bonus, they seem to prefer the taste of their dry food with it added! **Q: does it have any acids (citric?) that would erode the tooth enamel?** A: Nothing in it but seaweed...specifically the label says "Contains only specially selected seaweed D1070. Free from artificial colors, preservatives, gluten and sugar. Rich in natural iodine." Seems to work well for my Irish Terrier. **Q: Would this product help with the oral problems in an FIV positive cat?** A: Stop in at a Petsmart. Meine Hündin 5 Jahre hatte so doll Zahnstein, dass der Tierarzt eine Entfernung dringend empfohlen hat. Dieses Produkt ist die perfekte Alternative. Sie bekommt es inzwischen seit 3 Monaten 1x täglich über ihr Nassfutter gestreut und der Zahnstein ist fast weg. Wie ein Zauber. Sie mag es auch sehr und schlingt ihr Essen förmlich rein, wenn das Pulver drauf ist. Sie hatte weder Magenprobleme noch hat sie anderweitig darauf reagiert.
