I have tried many crimpers, and even though the other crimpers out there look just like these.. they are WAY worse than these Knipex. These are even better than some USA made one's that are 3x the price. If you do crimps on a normal basis, you will greatly appreciate these immediately. Makes a perfect crimp, it is ratcheting (despite not advertised as such) and has a lever action at the end that is fine tuned to give perfect crimp pressure every time. No guessing how hard to squeeze or squeezing overly hard to "make sure" you activated the end of the ratchet cycle. The included die is superbly made, you can see it was fine tuned after forging to be very precise. It is also INCREDIBLY hard, going to last forever. Grip is a sort of hard plastic that has a slight rubbery/grippy touch, very nice. I thought it was just going to be the typical hard tool plastic, but it's a bit unique. Fit and finish of the overall tool is flawless (which is typical of Knipex), no burrs, marks, dents, scratches, or blemishes in the finish. Knipex is a fantastic company and hope they continue to focus only on quality regardless of price... there are plenty of "built to a price" tools out there from the usual importers, but the number of quality tools is diminishing. If you are only doing heat shrink connectors get 97 52 37 as it has a more forgiving crimp (no raised crimp end) so it wont split the heat shrink. **Q: Can this crimped be used for heat shrink butt connectors?** A: Yes works great with those **Q: Are the dies interchangeable** A: The dies on these crimp pliers are not interchangeable.
