Due to the way the teeth are cut into the jaws of the pliers, they are able to securely grab damaged screw heads and facilitate their removal. Particularly with smaller screws (where getting a grip is more the issue, rather than overcoming the tightness of the screw) they can save a lot of time and aggravation. Compared to traditional screw extractors (where you have to drill a hole and then insert a left hand threaded extractor) these are far easier to use and have a higher success rate. The pliers feel like a quality item and fit my hand well.
