We recently bought a GoPro Hero 10 for travel and vlogging. We love the camera; however, we were not as enthralled by the mounting options. After viewing several YouTube videos about this system we bought it and can say the positive reviews are accurate. However, there is a caveat: If you have a GoPro 9 or 10 and want to use the Media Mod, be advised this stock base will not completely work. There are two "fins", one on either side of the rear mount that do not allow the Media Mod to fit securely. One "fin" also blocks the rear cable connections. One YouTube video showed a user cutting them off with a Dremel-type tool and we were about to go that route when my wife found a new model of the Snap Mount base without the "fins" on the Snap Mount website. (We have yet to find it on Amazon, perhaps because it's a new product.) That new model works fine with the Media Mod and if you want to use it, I highly recommend you purchase one from Snap Mount. All that aside, the Snap Mount is extremely secure and well-built. The magnets are quite powerful (watch your fingers), and we can quickly switch from a chest mount (without the attractive harness) to a full-size tripod with a 1/4"-20 adapter or a selfie extension rod. Highly recommended.

I just assumed that I would not be using this system on my bike. I'd read the reviews and horror stories from a few people about their camera falling off and just planned to use this with the lanyard and my tripod mount. I was not looking forward to having to re-mount the camera every time I used it on my bike but hey, everything can't be easy. But those negative reviews didn't read the instructions. Included is a very handy locking mount for a bike or anything where you are really putting stress on the mount. You simply use the mount that goes on at a 45 degree angle and twist it and it locks on. No chance of the magnet failing when you hit a bump because it is physically locked together. So this is better than I expected. I doubt I'll ever need any additional mounts and if I ever do, I'll buy another batch of these. I can now attach my GoPro mini 11 to the lanyard, to my mount and to my bike and I couldn't be happier. Not shown (maybe a new addition) in the item list is a rubberized gasket so that if you do want to attach it to something metal (like your car) you can use the gasket and not worry about scratching the surface. Extremely well thought out product that I cannot recommend enough. I was so tired of using the thumbscrew every time I wanted to move my camera to a mount and this fixes that problem perfectly.

Magnets are very strong, no need to worry about it falling off your vehicle if you have it mounted on the hood or the side or inside on the windshield. The necklace that hangs down inside your shirt works well too. No more need for that big ol Gopro chest strap anymore. So awesome that you can move the Gopro from a windsheild mount to a stick mount to an outside mount or a neckless mount in seconds and no fiddling with GoPro screws anymore. It is an awesome product!

I really liked this product as I did a lot of research prior to purchase. Unfortunately I had to return as I could not get the Snap Mount base to tighten on the system I have in place (Forevercam 360 rotation mount) on my bike. When installed, my GoPro was not able to lock in place but rather was able to move freely. This being stated, the good are the magnets as they are extremely strong and I can definitely see utilizing this system in a variety of ways. My application was for my bike as I wanted something that provided a quick release vice me having to constantly screw/unscrew my GoPro on a daily basis after riding. I really wanted to give this very high marks and would have if it was compatible with my mount. I will definitely recommend (5+ Stars) if it is compatible with your mount as you will not be disappointed. Hope this helps!

I originally purchased this and had planned on permanentaly mounting the back plate onto a Stuntman chest mount with zip ties or epoxy. I didn't have time to do that and today I went up to ski a few runs on my World Cup GS skis. I put the GoPro 10 and Snap Mount in the car and used just the snap mount system on my upper chest. I figured the angle wouldn't be quite right but it turned out perfect. I usually average in the low 50 mph range and the Snap Mount was rock solid the whole time. I use a thin gor tex jacket (Arc Teryx) and had the waterproof zipper running through the middle of the Snap Mount...no problems. GoPros take some good footage but I avoided them for years because they are so big and clunky they look stupid. With the Snap Mount it is so close to your chest it is as clean of a GoPro mount that you'll find.

I used it around my neck, through my jacket, on my backpack strap, on a selfie stick, and so much more. The magnets are super strong and you'll end up using all of it. The ONLY problem I had was that the green screw thingy popped out (which could have caused me to drop, break, lose my GP11). FYI, I later found the thingy in one of my pockets. Luckily, I had a spare screw thingy with a rubber washer that kept a tight grip. I'm a first time GP user so I had purchased all kinds of accessories before our trip and this is the one we used every single day and all the time. This should come by default w/ all GPs. Great build quality too.

The fact that this page/product has "a frequently returned item" flag is abhorrent. The magnets are sound N52s. If you experience any "weakness" it is your poor quality thumbscrew. Easily a five star product. Great value. Ease of installation/use. Any problem is a user skill issue. Oh, and the "Pro" is that this a kit that has pretty much all of their products - not like an upgraded version...

I have tried suckers to mount DJi Osmo pockets and and DJI action cams on cars and I never felt sure of them. The strong magnets in this mounting system provides a strong mount to iron-based surfaces ( no good for Aluminium of course ) and I have tried it and am confident it is as good as you will get. Mounted on a car it is just brilliant and not too big and unsightly to attract attention. Worth every penny.

Been using for 6 months. Motorbiking, surfing, canyoning, you name it. It performs great while motorbiking, even with heavy winds. But forget it for underwater activities, you will need to tie to a rope or flotty case. I used it while surfing, kept loosing it. Same for canyoning, it fell in the cascade and took me 15min to find. But it never claimed it could do all that, so what it says it can do, its correct. For the rest, be careful the magnet isn't strong enough for every type of activity.

Habe eine halterung für meine Osmo Action 4 gesucht die sehr flexibel ist und die Möglichkeit bei diesem Set ganz easy zwischen Bodycam, und stativ oder sogar am Auto hin und her zu wechseln ist unvergleichlich. Die Magneten sind sehr stark und ich habe meine cam aussen am Auto befestigt und bon 70-80 kmh gefahren. Alles kein problem.

The magnets are strong enough to hold the cam in activities, but when mounting them on my head strap the camera and mount are so heavy on the front that I'm afraid that with some quick movement the strap would slip off or the now heavy camera mount will drop on my nose. I'm not sure to use it that way. Actually, the head strap does not hold very well on the head and slips with my hair
