The 36-card Petit Lenormand deck has an updated design with elegant, classic artwork. The cards feature playing card inserts and verses by Stuart Kaplan to assist the reader in interpreting the card meanings. The 40- page instruction booklet includes a brief biography of Mlle. Lenormand, card meanings, and a sample Grand Tableau reading. Review: This is the One - I have only recently discovered Lenormand cards, having a lifetime of experience with Tarot. I purchased these for my wife ( along with Caitlin Matthews’ excellent Lenormand book: https://www.desertcart.com/dp/1620553252/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_CP6C9F9FTZFPT8C8BXV7 ) My wife is curious about Tarot, but it’s a bit too abstract for her taste. I thought Lenormand, with its imagery from everyday life, might appeal to her more practical nature. Not any Lenormand deck, though. Something both classic and classy; something fun and easy to take in at a glance. I also wanted a deck with the playing card inserts. A little descriptive verse would be perfect. This deck ticks all those boxes. She loves it. With only a little instruction, she can already read it. I admit I had to overcome some Tarot snobbery toward this simple oracle. Boy, was I wrong. Lenormand is a wonderful system that is perfect for more mundane questions. I really like Caitlin Matthews’ Untold Tarot (see review). Her Lenormand book was published a few years before it. Now I understand that the old European cartomantic tradition she describes in Untold Tarot no doubt owes much to her research into Lenormand. It has a respectable pedigree (if one may say that of a fortune telling method). And let’s face it. There is a glut of Tarot cards and books on the market, and most of them of are... let’s just say not for me. Lenormand has the virtue of not riding a tsunami of silliness. (Yet. Give it another few years.) I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this Blue Bird deck. Every image is perfect. To me, one clunker spoils a whole deck for reading. Not so here. I haven’t found a better Lenormand deck for our purposes. No complaints about quality, either. There are double “Lady” and “Gentlemen” cards: a young pair and a more mature one. My wife adds that she likes the verse, the quaint illustrations, the finish (neither matte nor gloss). The LWB (Little White Book) is not a substitute for more substantial instruction, but is fine for what it is and will get someone started. There is quite a bit of biographical information about Mademoiselle Lenormand, including a picture of the deplorable state of her mausoleum (since addressed). Interesting history, but, ironically she never used the deck that bears her name. You can trust the Blue Bird. Review: Glad I Ordered - When I Googled the images of these cards they were breathtaking to me. They are very similar to the previous "Owl deck" which I own and may be out of print now. Both were done by Stuart Kaplan of U.S. Games Systems, Inc. So, I feel like I've come full circle. The CARD STOCK is good and this deck is about the size and feel of regular playing cards. They have everything you need on them: each card's number, playing card insert, a rhyming poem, picture and name of the subject, so you call tell AT A GLANCE what it is. The poems are nice but don't describe the whole meaning of the card. For that you can use the enclosed BOOKLET. It's larger than most and has its own thick paper cover. Includes a small bio of Mlle. Lenormand and a few pictures. Also, there's now good books available that cover the deck in-depth. The ARTWORK of the subject matter is Victorian. The playing card inserts have court cards that look like oil paintings of aristocratic people, like you might see in a museum. Even the symbol playing cards look antique with no numbers in the corners, the way cards were once printed. I especially like that. The Victorian illustrations have CHARMING TOUCHES. For instance, the DOG is a sweet King Cavalier Spaniel, the realistic MICE are white with black spots and the KEY is next to a heart-shaped lock. The GENTLEMAN and LADY look like well-chosen actors in a period movie! Finally, the CARD BACKS are the bird design you see on the box, only nicer. The bird is white and the design is done in navy, light blue and white. If you like the look of a traditional Lenormand deck, I would definitely RECOMMEND this one.

Beautiful Vintage and Renaissance Theme Design Lenormand Deck
I have been waiting to get my own Lenormand deck, but couldn't find one at a decent price and image. I was looking for the Blue Owl deck with verses, but no luck. My friend was looking for one and that prompt me to look again recently. I'm glad this deck came out which reminds me of the Blue Owl deck in terms of the color and versus. I ordered one and one for my friend. The deck is in shrink wrap exterior and interior which made the packaging really tight to open at first. I noticed the lack of image cards for this deck on-line. Therefore, I am attaching an image for viewing purposes. I think this deck is beautiful in terms of the vintage feel and Renaissance theme design which brings an authentic feel to the reading. The instruction book includes Mile Lenormand's mini bio and each card's description in simple terms. The verses on the card are simple and straightforward. I think the deck is great for beginners.

Blue bird lenormand
I do really love these cards. They have a nice look to them, Victorian, they have card insert on top left of card with poem on top right. The name of each card is on the bottom center. The picture on the back of cards is the same as the picture on the box. The size of the cards is 2 3/8 X 3 1/2 inches or 6 X 9 centermeters. Company name is printed on the backs of the cards, lower right side. The card stock seems typical of stock used for these type of cards, seems the same as the French cartomancy Lenormand cards I have. I think these would make a nice addition to anyone's collection of cards. Hope this was helpful

Love Bluebird
I still do basic card spreads and need a guidebook for some Lenormand interpretations, but I love this Bluebird Lenormand deck. The size of the cards are roughly the size of a regular playing deck and the semi-gloss, satin finish slide easily while shuffling. The Victorian artwork is beautiful, very detailed with vivid colors. I'm becoming a card collector but haven't had the urge to seek out other Lenormand decks...although I may have to acquire the updated version with two additional cards to differentiate between younger and older men and women figures. Can't go wrong with this choice.

Beautiful imagery and nice stock
These cards are really beautiful. And they stick to the traditional system, which makes them a snap to read. The images are clear and easily recognizable, which matters so much in a Grand Tableau. They also include English rhymes that allude to some the the meanings, created by U.S. Games' Stuart Kaplan. It adds a traditional charm to the cards. They include the playing card inserts, and the court inserts are really gorgeous images. Many U.S. Games' copyright marks are on the card fronts, which detracts from the cards' beauty. It's a really nice change to see them show up on the card backs. This way, it doesn't detract from the cards' beauty. The only opportunity I could see for improvement (and that would make this a five-star deck) is having one extra lady and one extra gentleman card. Many decks, even reprints of traditional/historical ones, provide extras of these cards to support readings for querents who are exploring same-sex relationships. The box the cards come in is typical fair, but it's so snug, getting the LWB and cards back inside is a bit of a challenge. The LWB has key meanings for each card. Though if you're new to this system, I highly recommend a book. It's not that easy to get up and running. Overall, it's a really lovely deck and has a wonderful feel to it. The stock is sturdy and I can see many years of use to come!

Nice deck, love the images, purse size deck
A cute little deck with clear pictures in a standard box with a top flap opening. The little book that accompanies the deck gives basic interpretations of the cards. Good deck.

Great insights
These cards are beautiful and very easy to read. They have amazing poems written on them that lets the reader know what the card is about. These cards are small sized and therefore easy to shuffle. Adorable packaging. Love working with these cards.

Lovely Lenormand decks with beautiful pictures, only the dog and flowers makes you want toi buy it, verses that fit the meaning with the card, court cards in form of old paintings; the nicest Lenormand deck I ever saw, fit for beginners and those who are used to work with Lenormand too.
