The curtains are 100% polyester. They are not linen, nor are they made from flax.

is the size listed for each separate curtains or both curtains?

The size listed is for each panel. I purchased 2 (2 panels in each) and sewed two together to make a pair of patio curtains. I absolutely love them.

I'm confused about the width. If I order the 52-inch width, is each panel 52 inches or is it 52 inches for the two panels together?

each panel is 52 inches. I used my purchase of two panels to comfortably over an 83 inch wide space, with enough generous folds

How see thru are these at night?

I guess it depends on your perspective. They are sheer. You can see through them. Darker colors might be a bit more private. I noticed some people posted photos with their reviews, one in particular said they provided privacy at night. I wouldn’t rely on a semi-sheer for privacy but everyone has different needs.
