They really aren't very cold. And depends upon if they are frozen or if you merely store them in the fridge. IF they're refrigerated, I'd say 30 minutes tops. Frozen, maybe an hour

Yes, you can walk on them on hardwood floor you just need to be a little bit careful cuz it's like having socks on so it might be a teeny bit slippery. I also found that wearing a very thin pair of socks with these helps because they are pretty cold on the bare feet.
