Product Description KA-BAR have been making knives since 1898 and each knife undergoes unique manufacturing processes and testing to ensure corrosion resistance, strength, edge holding ability and an out-of-the-box razor sharp cutting edge. The brand name dates back to the early 1900's from a fur trapper testimonial. he wrote that while trapping, his gun jammed leaving him with only his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. He thanked us for making the quality knife that helped him to kill a bear, but all that was legible was "K a bar". Honoured by the testimonial, the company adopted the phrase KA-BAR as their trademark. Clasically styled leather-handled hunting knives have been popular since the early 1900s. **Q: Can this knife also be used to hunt soldiers?  Or would it be better to get the Soldier Hunter knife?**
A: Very astute and most never ask, while you can use this marine hunter to hunt soldiers, it is better suited to hunting marines.

**Q: Where is this knife made. Manufactured?**
A: The description says, "Knife Made in Taiwan, Leather Sheath made in Mexico." It actually makes me wonder if this is a genuine Ka-Bar.

**Q: I thought k-bar was made in the u.s..this was made in taiwan.they have k-bar in taiwan?**
A: They are built in Taiwan to KA-BAR specifications before accepted by KA-BAR

**Q: What kind of steel is this knife made of?**
A: Stainless steel blade.  I ordered the knife and am not at all dissapointed.  The knife is heavy and well made.
