I want to use 2 of these to make point to point bridge between two houses. The distance = 180 ft but there are bunch of trees. Would it work ?

I use two of these to share my network across a field 1/2 mile and it keeps a 75-80% signal. Rain, snow, and storms do not affect the link. The separate suction cup mount is great and useful.

what is the difference with the M5?

M5 is different frequency, 5.0ghz and will not work with 2.4ghz devices.

Do I need 2 of these, or will a simple wireless bridge act as a receiver for a simple ethernet device? if 2, can I plug device directly into the nano?

No, but you will likely want 2 if you are bridging a moderate distance. Yes, you can plug directly into it. With 2 you can basically create a very long cable, aka a transparent bridge.

It works perfect as AccesPoint? for connecting laptops, cell phones, and other nanostations

I use this for connecting laptops, cell phones and tablets and it has worked flawlessly. I only have one so can't speak to connecting additional nanostations.
