Bruder Toys Land Rover Defender Station Wagon With Horse Trailer And 1 Horse

Can't believe the quality of this plastic toy. Quality and supreme engineering throughout. Mine arrived with rear door pushed in beyond it's stop, as the same as another reviewer here. I assumed it had been assembled that way, and didn't want to break any part of it trying to pull it open. Called Bruder, who told me to send picture to Bruderparts.com, which I did. Within 15 minutes, no lie, got an email telling me to push it from the from using a ruler or similar tool. Instead, I gave another shot to pulling it open. Turns out this plastic is far more durable than I thought. Pulled right open with a little extra force, no problem. Turns out, the spare tire is attached to the door, and pushing it on can cause door to close too far in. No biggie. Also, I saw a review saying she couldn't pop the sunroof open to access the steering mechanism. Me neither! Turns out, it slides back! No instructions, so you have to sort through things yourself, or go ahead and call Bruder. Nice people, and great products. "You know the Germans always make good stuff!" :-)

I like this toy very very much... may be even more than my son does. This is an excellent miniature version of the iconic Land Rover Defender SUV. This is made entirely of plastic. The attention to detail is impressive. Both the driver and passenger doors open as well as the back door! The hood pops up and there is even a hood stand!! Both front wheel are connected to the steering wheel such that if you rotate the steering in any direction, the front wheels actually turn! But that is not the most amazing thing in this mini Land Rover. The best feature of this replica is the independent wheel suspension for all 4 wheels. If you drive this over a toy soldier for example, you will notice that the wheel directly over the soldier lifts slightly up to accommodate the soldier while all the other 3 wheels are still maintaining contact with the ground. This is what Land Rovers are famous for and what all the real off-road capable vehicles display. I was just amazed to find that they would put this much amount of work inside a toy at this price range. Bruder totally rocks! For the record, I do not approve of driving toy Land Rovers over toy soldiers.

This toy is great - my 3yo loves it, and so far it's held up very well. I love the articulating suspension. It's nice having a detailed toy that doesn't take batteries. Things to be aware of: The hood has a tiny prop rod, which can come unsnapped. It was lost somewhere in my living room within the first day. No big deal for us (the hood has enough friction to stay up on its own), but if you also have babies in the house, you might want to pre-emptively remove it to prevent what amounts to a black plastic toothpick from being eaten.

great detail, opening doors, steerable front wheels, rubber tires what more can you ask for? it is an all plastic (rubber tires) model/toy but the plastic is of good quality. only thing I can't figure out is if or how to take the top off. I know this same model comes in versions with the top removed so I thought there might be (or should be) a way to pop the top off of this one. it certainly looks like it would be possible (the top is a separate piece) but I can't seem to remove it (and I don't want to squeeze or pull to hard and break something). a removable top would make it all that much more cool.

You can never go wrong with this brand of cars/trucks! Our boys LOVE them! We have a crane, a semi, a tracker/trailer, and now this! We love them all and they are a hit whenever we have gave them for a gift. They are also a favorite toy for friends to play with when they come over. The quality is great. They are a higher price, but they are also huge, and great toys so they are worth it. Our crane is 4 years old and still looks new, has been dropped plenty of times and never been broke. We love these toys!

This is a great toy. The Defender is very true to the 1:1 scale version with detailed lights, opening doors, opening hood, removable rear seats, opening sunroof, and removable roof rack. A big plus is a steering wheel that can be attached through the sunroof to allow steering the from wheels without putting fingers through the drivers window to move the steering wheel. This allows kids to steer the car from just about the roof while playing. My only negative remark is that I would like to have it so the doors and the roof could be removed completely. Otherwise this is an excellent value that should provide for years of enjoyment for event the roughest kid.

Absolutely awesome for the price. Put this in the Rovers North catalog and they would get $100 bucks for it. Make it in die-cast metal and I would pay that. It is a really neat little toy for my Son (who is almost 4), of the 1995 North American spec Land Rover D90 I used to have. Mine had a white roof but WHATEVER. The rest of the detail is impressive and durable. This is a well constructed cool, cool toy, and for the price - a no brainer. I want it for myself!

My nephew LOVES his Bruder trucks. I got him the Mack dumptruck for his birthday last year, the big backhoe for Christmas, and the Land Rover for his 3rd birthday. He loves that the doors and hood open so he can put toy friends inside, and the dump truck is still good as new even with a rambunctious two year old playing with it for a year now. The moving buckets on the backhoe have held up great too playing in the sandbox and inside. The steering wheel on the roof of the Land Rover (can be removed and stored underneath the truck) is a great touch and he figured out how to steer it quickly! These vehicles are well-built and incredibly realistic, and they are strong yet lightweight plastic so they can be used indoors or out. He will be getting a Bruder fire truck for Christmas!
