This thing is LOUD!
No seriously, it is LOUD. And the smack - just amazing. I did change out the stock head (came with Pork Pie's own head) and put in a pair of Evans - a black resonant and an Ebony batter - so it's like a Black beauty snare. Definitely not for all genres, but it cuts through well for me (hard rock/metal/funk - etc). I would recommend a bag or a carry case for this as you'd want to keep it forever.

Excellent looks and sound!
I love this snare! The sound of this snare is what I've been looking for! If your looking for a good clean pop sound, then this is the snare for you! Plus the quality of this snare is a amazing, the hardware and and shell feels awesome. Rim shots sound really good too by the way also. (no lacquer finish on the shell)

Crispy!!!
There are many things I like about this snare: more leg space, tight sounding, snappy, and lots of extra pop on the rim shots. The stock heads are pretty cheap though so I would suggest getting a good two-ply dry coated to compliment.

poppy piccolo with good volume for its size
As others have indicated, this is a tight, poppy piccolo with good volume for its size. I ultimately gave mine away, though, in favor of a 3 x 12 Yamaha steel piccolo, because, despite its overall build quality, the Squealer was almost impossible to keep in tune.

Little Screeemer!!
This is an excellent drum. Made with a black maple shell and powder black coated hardware. The drumhead that comes with it is one of a kind. i have had the same head since i first bought the drum(a year ago. you can either crank it up and make it squeal, or tune it low and make it grunt
