This is my second BlueAir purifier; I've loved both of them. The 7470i is attractive, solidly built, and very quiet -- at first I wasn't sure it was working until I felt the breeze coming from its vents. It does a great job removing the stale smell from my home office in the basement and it seems to remove a lot of dust from the air. It has a colorful touch-screen control panel on the top that shows what the purifier is doing. If you connect it to the internet (which is optional and, to my mind, a bit overkill) you can control the purifier and view its status with a phone app. I don't really use the app very often but it does show the remaining filter life, etc. The app does come in handy when it reminds me to vacuum the purifier's pre-filters and so on. It's really easy to vacuum the 7470i's pre-filters (which catch dust) and change the main filter.

Elegantly designed, easy to operate with a touch screen that allows you to control the air purifier using touch controls on the control panel. The LED display shows the air quality level by displaying different colors. There is a particle data indicator, temperature indicator, relative humidity indicator, gas indicator and filter lifetime indicator and the touch screen allows you to scroll through each of the settings to see everything at a glance. The air purifier is easy to move from one location to another. The air purifier does its job quickly and efficiently. This was very noticeable when I was cooking and the excellent air quality changed to polluted. We were amazed how quickly the purifier cleaned up the air and the air quality returned to excellent. The first unit we purchased from Amazon was defective since for some reason the unit was unable to read the filter. Blueair sent us a free replacement filter which did not fix the problem. Amazon quickly came to the rescue and I can't say enough about Amazon's customer service. They assisted me in the return of the defective unit and shipped out a new unit immediately so I received it the very next day. What initially was a frustrating experience turned into a very positive experience due to Amazon's stellar customer service! One thing that does need some improvement is the app. It took a few tries to get it to work properly. I highly recommend this product.

The touch screen displays all the info you need about your environment! The app works well in recording the latest data. I thought there would be a stronger airflow but cleans the air great regardless!

It is highly rated by Consumers Reports for durability. quietness, and ease of use. It is heavy and cumbersome to move. It is a device to move to its place and leave at that place. Easy to understand controls are a plus. An app to monitor and control can be downloaded from the App Store. Connecting the app to the purifier was not easy because a successful connection is not obvious. Buttons to connect additional devices remain dominate during setup. Later, connected devices show on the main page.

I got this mostly for cooking odor because I have an open kitchen and I love to stir fry stuff, and my range is not powerful enough to get rid of most of the odor. I tried numerous other air purifiers without much success, so I only have small expectation for this since the flow rate is much higher than the others I have. Boy was I disappointed at the result, it worked marginally better than my Rabbit Air and worse than the Coway, I was ready to pack it back up and return it for an $800 unit that cannot perform better than a $300 one. However my friend came by and told me to place this purifier away from the kitchen where the odor is, and put it in my living room facing the kitchen instead, pretty much against the convention of where to place an air purifier, oh boy did it make a difference. The kitchen still smell to high heaven when I stir fry my food, but the odor got cleaned up in less than 10 minutes in both kitchen and living room; then I placed the Coway and Rabbit Air at the same location, they perform much much worse than before. So for this air purifier, the optimal placement seems to be open space instead of where the source of the odor.

I bought this after putting up with a month of smoke from the California fires leaking into my home. The reviews said it is very quiet and they are correct. Not a problem to run it all night, although it has a very bright display light that can probably be turned off - just haven't tried very hard. Great and very effective product - clears the air in my large open plan main floor quickly.

I totally love this product. I have found that once you EXPLORE what it can do, then the negatives that are found in other reviews are solvable. True the fan has 3 speeds and low medium and high are constant. But if you control the fan from the app, you can set it an anywhere from 1% to 100%, now you will find the right setting for you. On to the light. Yes, it is bright and for most people, having it on during the day time is not a problem. But during your sleep? Well, in the app it does have a brightness adjustment. Use the schedule options. The trick here is to stop and start new schedules 1 minute apart. Mine is set to start at 5:01 am at speed of 2 with minimal brightness and end this schedule at 7:30. Next schedule starts at 7:31 and unit is set to run on auto with full brightness. This continues throughout the day...you get the picture. So far the air has never been cleaner, it works! We have or will have 3, just ordered the 2nd 7770i. I have the 7470i in our master bedroom and the 7770i in the large family room/kitchen area. however, at the front of the house is a 180sqft bedroom and a bonus room adjacent. Will be moving the 7470i there and upgrading the master to the new 7770i that is on it's way! Our master is large and including the master bath and walk in closet over 400 sq ft.

The best air purifier I’ve ever owned. I wish that I could integrate a bunch of these with HomeKit or something because I’d have them all over the house reporting all the information they can sense. Extremely well designed, well built, the app is easy and convenient. Easily gets rid of cooking smells quickly automatically. I notice less dust in the air and settled on things. I’ll be watching for sales and definitely getting more in the future.
