Is this the same product as the jar but in stick form?

Not really. The stick is more like a very smooth balm. The jar is stickier and more like a jelly.

Not really. It's also a little different texture...smoother. It's great for a purse lip balm and easy to use but I use the regular (jar) lip balm in the a.m. before lipstick (just a touch...a little goes a long way) and at night before I go to bed. Love the stuff in the jar...but find the tube handy in a pinch.
