Review: Michael Morpurgo is such a wonderful author. This story is fictional but based on facts and tells the story of a young boy orphaned in WW11, separated from his sister and sent on a boat to Australia. He had to endure horrendous living conditions, cruelty, many struggles and tough times but eventually finds love. A great story! Review: Nothing short of a masterpiece, creates so many emotions. You won't be able to put the book down once you've picked it up!

I read a lot. This book is almost an afternoon/evening On the beach. For all that, (not my upper-case?) it’s an intriguing book, not too taxing for an eighty two year old and one that I shall keep and read again in about twenty years!
