UAE Off-Road Explorer by Explorer Publishing and Distribution - Paperback

Well, it’s a bit out of date, with rapid urbanization and infrastructure projects a lot has changed since 2017 in the UAE! That said it got me out and exploring! The information is technically all available on-line but it’s wonderful to sit and read through an actual book in the evening, planning your next adventure and to have in your vehicle as a reference guide along the route. The book as a concept and execution is definitely five stars. Just be prepared for a few changes. For example the remote plateau at the top of Wadi Sana now has a few houses and a huge wind generator! Not ideal for camping. But wander up a nearby creek bed and we found an even more outstanding camp spot. So, accuracy may be a bit off, but use it as a start point, be adventurous and explore UAE off-road!

If you are an adventurer than it is a must to have the book, last edition was 2012 and this one is much improved. I highly recommended to those with adventure spirit.

There are lot of off road routes which we had explored based on this book. The book is very helpful to navigate

This is an old book which I have been using for a long time.... Bought it again as the old one fell apart after years of using

Book is published in 2017 … that’s too old It gives nice ideas , but lots of details are outdated or missing

Die meisten Reiseführer in den VAE beschreiben nur die großen Städte wie Dubai und Abu Dhabi sowie die Retortenstädte dazwischen. Wie schön das restliche Land ist und welche schönen Strecken es gibt bleibt unerkannt. Mit den Detailkarten kann man Strecken mit und ohne Allrad finden und sogar Wanderungen, die von dort abgehen. Sehr zu empfehlen.
