The handle does lock in the closed position and there is a place to hook the straps to prevent from opening. Product is well built, solid and sturdy. Balanced well with fully loaded bag. For easiest setup and take down the video of the guy taking it out of the car is a good demonstration. Front lifts easily to change direction. Do like a fixed wheel, won't jam up, turn inexspectantly when pushing. Lastly if the cart doesn't track straight they provide an easy instruction with avery easy adjustment to fix. Mine tracks perfect. Lastly am impressed, it is a very good cart. Plastic wheels make it a little rough when pushing on hard surfaces, normal.
