Is the reusable ice pack soft or hard?

It's firm & smooth like a child teether but not hard. So nothing can pop or leak. I think it's really neat style ice pack.

I would suggest contacting the company Frida Mom (Frida Baby) directly. Their contact information is probably on the packaging or you can Google them if you no longer have the packaging.

Item did not auto inflate. how do i get it to? or reach the company?

The first couple times using the cushion you will need to inflate it manually, afterwards it will auto-inflate. Please email hello@fridamom.com if you need any help (:
