Well - it's better than the cheap, rickety sub-fiver laptop riser I was using previously - but not by an awful lot. The construction is flimsy, requiring a fair degree of unwarranted faith that it'll have the necessary heft to hold the computer. The lip at the front is too shallow to comfortably hold my laptop in place, and my device isn't of unusually generous proportions. There's no ventilation cut into the main panel, meaning that airflow to the laptop is very limited. The lip at the front has no holes or slots in it, so if you have ports at the front good luck in being able to use them.Very disappointing, really.

Perfect, use it with my MacBook Air 13" with apple keyboard and mouse. Positions screen in my line of sight and has saved me from buying a separate monitor for use at the office. I did plug in a Dell monitor but the quality was no where even close to the mac screen (yes I know I could spend a lot more on a better monitor but that's the whole point of this, I don't need to).I have to say that for everyone running windows 8 via a touch screen it might not be as good (or indeed any riser) as on the mac all swipe and tap gestures can be controlled via the apple mouse - very clever!It is plastic and it's not as sexy as the £45 bent metal one that I almost bought but at less than half the price I can have one at home as well and still be £5 up!Very happy with my purchase.

My 17 inch laptop overhangs the riser by nearly 3 inches each side. Its sliding about if you are not careful. Press the DVD draw and if you don't hold the other side it just sides over. The front lip holds my laptop back as well as it would water. and as implied above the non-stick pads are as ineffective.I thought maybe the wrong one had been sent but no the box proudly shows a 17 inch laptop but carefully not on the stand. Clearly those shown on it must very small ones!If another review is right and this is suitable, unlike many others that claim they are OK for up to 17inch is right what on earth are the others like?The other niggle is the USB pug for powering the fan incorporates the USB socket, so it sticks out a lot, ideal for knocking in use.The good points, yes it has some. The fan is very qiirt and appears to be effective. It build quality is OK.But if you are looking for a support for a 17inch laptop this is NOT one.

Had the same item at work previously so had the experience of it.Must be good otherwise I wouldn't have ordered the same for home.Love it.

Great piece of kit to enable working from home and it lifts my laptop nicely to a better hight to stop my scrunching over. I've found my back not bas sore since buying this so overall I'm impressed even if it does feel a little flimsy
