These handles really live up to the “Reliable” name. The metal feels heavy-duty and solid, with no flimsy parts. The black finish looks clean and professional, and it hasn’t scratched after some use. I installed them on a storage chest I’m refurbishing, and they bolted on perfectly. They swing smoothly but stay in place when not in use, which is exactly what I wanted. Pros: • Strong, durable construction • Nice black finish that resists scratches • Easy to install with solid hardware included Cons: • Honestly none so far — just make sure they fit the project size you need Great quality for the price. I’d definitely buy again for future DIY projects.

I bolted two Reliable Hardware Co. RH-0540BK Chest Handles on my 1960's Craftsman 3 drawer steel tool chest after I got tired of lifting my 40 lb. chest of tools by the top handle. I'm pleased with how sturdy they are and how they look and much happier picking up and carrying the chest now.

Very sturdy and well made. However, unfortunately it is necessary to buy screws as it does not come with them. Otherwise, I would give 5 stars. Attractive and decorative!

I will echo the previous reviewers’ comments by saying these are sturdy and of great build quality...especially at this price point. And for those of you bellyaching that mounting hardware is not included: Did you ever stop to consider that there are countless applications for these handles, thus resulting in a myriad of possible fasteners to mount them with? Is the manufacturer supposed to just guess what you need or include a plethora of different kinds of screws, hoping they suffice? No. You purchase them separately, that way they are mounted properly. Mine required 10-32 t-nuts and 5/8” button head machine screws. I certainly wouldn’t expect fasteners of this nature to be included, so I was more than happy to purchase them separately!

I have purchased a number of products from the "Reliable" company and have never been disappointed. These chest handles are heavy duty. They are simple to install. They can handle a heavy load. They look good. It's a quality product. I will be ordering more for my projects.

Just the size and quality for the box I wanted them for. Very happy with them.

Bought 2 sets of them and was positively surprised how solid these handles are. The handle plates are stamped and formed nicely in a way that there are no sharp edges and it backs up the handles in the outer / carry position solidly. The rod of the handle is of 5/16" (=8mm) diameter, hence bending them under heavy loads is nearly impossible. The price point for these handles is good. One little drawback: The black powdercoating wears off over time on the contact surfaces between handle and backing plate. If you want to use these handles permanently outdoors I suggest to buy handles made of stainless steel or at least zinc coated. Powdercoating would not do the thick in this case when permanently exposed to all weather conditions. It was not a big deal for me as these handles are used indoors in my application. And yes please, do not complain about missing mounting hardware. The application of these handles are so wide that any mounting hardware provided will be not suitable in most cases anyways. As a matter of fact, the seller does not claim providing mounting hardware, so read and understand the product description clearly and there will be no surprises.
