These are great for not average height people.
My daughter is 4'8'' tall so when driving she was very close to the steering wheel which is a risk if the airbag is deployed. She has a VW Jetta 2015, so I decided to buy these pedal extenders so that she can move the seat a little bit back. These extenders work perfectly, obviously some adjustments need to be done before doing the final installation, it is easy to move the pieces (or remove the unnecessary ones) to have the right setup, in my daughter case I only require to extend the pedals a few inches, so I remove one piece in the break pedal extender to have the right setup. The difficult part to install these extenders is the car where you are working on, because is difficult to work in the floor of the car under the car board, with the seat at your right, so I’ll recommend to try to determine the pedal setup before trying to do the final installation, test with the driver that is going to use them, until she/he is comfortable with the setting, then tight any pieces that are not related to the attach of the extender to the original pedals, and finally install them. Start with the gas pedal, I think this was the one that I spent more time working on just because to reach the original pedal, and tight the screws was a little bit difficult just because of the location and space to work on. The break pedal was very easy to install, I just have to change one of the long screws by one of the provided shorter ones. Be sure to tight very well all the screws!! I drove the car before my daughter just to be sure that the extenders were working correctly and just in case I didn’t do the right installation. After several tests, I let my daughter to give it a try, and she now is so happy!! She is now driving in a “normal” position and without any problems. Finally, be sure to have the right tools to tight your screws, that definitively will make the installation easier. So far these extenders are working perfectly, and my daughter feels safer not being so close to the steering wheel.

These Petal Extenders are very useful!
We purchased a 2019 Honda Odyssey and my 4'10" wife could not drive it nor any other Honda. To get Honda Assistance you have to find a NMEDA member who makes you contact a ADED Specialist then have a doctors note. I don't understand why it is so complicated and time consuming and all this time the car just sits. Honda dealer says just contact Honda Mobility...yea, easier said than done!! Well I gave up on Honda Mobility and purchased these petal extenders and two days later I had happy wife again! I highly recommend watching the install video because the instructions are quite cryptic. I had to watch it twice. We spent alot of time measuring, we used styrofoam and wood blocks to gauge the length to set the petals to(didn't drive the car). I then adjusted the length of the petals before attempting to install on the car petals. The gas petal is a little tricky to get on, not much room between the console and the petal. I'm only 5'5" and I cannot image how anyone bigger can get in between the seat and the petals. The gas petal bolts that are for the length and height should be tight enough to support themselves without moving around, this makes it easier to slip on the assembly onto the gas petal of the car. It does tighten up once you do all the bolts and the 4 screws on the base of the assembly. The brake petal literally slips right on, couple of minutes. The wedge had to be used because if not the bolts DO NOT tighten up due to the bolt is only threaded about one inch. Installing the petals is easy, the time consuming part is the tweaking to get it comfortable for the driver. Very sturdy once done.

Highly Adaptable, Install easier when done in steps
My wife has MS, and it was becoming difficult for her to drive her 2011 Chevy Equinox because the brake and gas pedals were so far into the well and of such different heights, requiring her to sit close to the wheel and lift her leg to get her foot from the gas to the brake, a move that fatigued her to the point she could only drive for about 15 minutes before having to stop and rest. She wanted the pedals to be lower to the floor, closer to the seat, closer together, and at the same level so she could use a heel-toe driving style without lifting her leg. The units came assembled but not in the configuration I needed, and the bolts that hold the brake extension onto the brake pedal were too long. The kit only included one of the shorter bolts for that application, so I had to dig up a second one from the bolt pile (always keep your leftover bolts!). The installation is a lot easier if you dissemble the extensions from the mounting brackets. Start with the brake mounting bracket, secure it onto the brake pedal, then do the same for the bracket for the gas pedal. The gas pedal mounting bracket is a bit funky, relying on little bolts you tighten with the small angle key provided to push down against the pedal against little bolts that catch on the underneath. So get both of those brackets tight onto the pedals first. Then put the extensions assembly onto the gas pedal loosely (hand tight). I moved some of the spacers around to get the gas pedal closer to the brake. Then I found a good position by holding it up in place that fit well. Did the same with the brake, using the bolts hand tightened to find a configuration I wanted. Once I had the rough positions set I put in the lock washers on the brake assembly bolts and tightened it up. The did the same with the gas pedal, getting it to align with the brake at about the same height and distance from the seat. My wife loves the new pedals and had me adjust the gas one a bit. She says she can drive a lot better without the fatigue that comes with lifting her foot each time. A week before we went to a place that customized vans for the handicapped and made adjustments like these. They had some pedal extensions but had nothing to bring the pedals closer together or lower to the floor like this unit did. They even suggested we sell the car and get one with different pedals! Other shops and dealers wouldn't touch the job with a ten foot pole due to liability concerns. Our only other option was to hire a friend who welds and does other fabrications to custom extend the brake but even then they wouldn't be aligned as well as I was able to get these to align. Besides, that would have hurt resale. It's not perfect - Criticisms I have with this setup: 1. The extensions for the brake pedal rely on tightness of the bolts in the extensions to keep it in place. A strong hard push on the gas could make it move out of position, but I tightened it up very hard to help prevent that. I'll have to check it every now and then to readjust it if it ever moves. In comparison the brake extensions are solid and could take a lot of abuse. 2. Lack of a second bolt to get the bracket to fit tightly on the brake pedal. 3. Instructions that came with it were useless and I threw them away. Other than that, pretty cool setup and wife is happy. Took me about an hour and a beer to do the install, taking two breaks to get the feeling back in my legs and feet.

Pedal to the metal takes time.
This product worked perfectly and was easy to adjust to exactly what the mother in law needed after she took a fall and broke her hip. She went back to driving the Honda CRV with the proper distance from the air bag and comfort in her hip after all the physical therapy and recuperation. The directions were a little vague and pictures lacked clarity. There was left over parts since it fits a multitude of cars. It requires mechanical common sense to install this kit due to the variations for other make and models. I did find it could be installed incorrectly and still work but it would not have stayed tight for long. Please read instructions with this kit to ensure safest installation. Allow yourself some distraction free time, it took me almost to hours to install both pedals at a leisurely pace. A bright light was a must for me to ensure all the fit and clearances.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! LIFE-ENDANGERING! DO NOT BUY!
The gas pedal extender suddenly slipped loose while driving on the highway, almost causing an accident that probably would have killed us. The design of the gas pedal extender is EXTREMELY dangerous, as there is only a single "clamping" arm with one wobbly point of contact. No matter how much I tried to tighten or secure this item, it was incredibly easy to just pop off the gas pedal with bare hands and no tools with only a little bit of force. I bought this item because my pregnant wife's belly is pressed up against the steering wheel. The extra five inches or so of reach were supposed to help keep her safe in case of an accident. Instead, it almost caused one. We could have lost our baby, or even our lives. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! YOU COULD DIE. YOUR LOVED ONES COULD DIE.

Great product for short people 😊
These have been installed on my car for a little over 1 month. My 16 yr old is only 4'8". While my Chevy Equinox allowed her to move the seat and steering wheel as needed to reach the pedals, she was very close to the steering wheel, which made making turns difficult at times. We bought these extenders help her get a little further away from the wheel. These have worked great! These are not easily removed, so they stay on my car at all times. I'm only 5', so it didn't bother me having them on the car at all times. Husband is 6' and he's a little cramped, but can still drive the car. My husband had to use different bolts to install them than what came with the package.

If I'd Only Known!
I love these peddle extenders. I'm in my fifties, am 4'10'' tall. I've been driving since I was 16. For all of those years I've struggled with straining to reach the gas peddle or using a pillow behind my back to push me forward a bit more. Not to mention how close I had to sit to the steering wheel, which is dangerous should the air bag releases! I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan Rogue and even with the telescoping steering wheel, it was still uncomfortable to reach the gas peddle and could not fully engage it enough to reach passing speed quickly enough, so I just stayed behind slower drivers. Not anymore!!! Love, love, love these things! Wish these were available years ago. My husband installed these. After watching the video a couple of times, that accompanies the purchase, he was able to install these and adjust then in about 45 minutes. Will never have another vehicle without these being installed on it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It’s a pedal extender!
I gave this product 3 stars because it was cumbersome to install. This was installed on my daughter’s 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The brake pedal was straightforward and easy; however, I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out the gas pedal. It took a lot of adjustment to get the gas pedal where I needed it. The brake pedal feels like good heavy duty quality. The gas pedal is flimsy and seems like it belongs on a toy. Ultimately, it does its job, just be willing to adjust and readjust.
