How does this product compare (aside from price) to nutramax dasuquin with msm chewable tablets for dogs by nutramax?  has anyone done the comparison?

Duralactin and Dasuquin are very different products and have different mechanisms of action for helping with joint pain/arthritis pain.  Duralactin contains a milk protein that has anti-inflammatory effects. While Dasuquin has multiple active ingredients that have multiple effects such as anti-inflammatory, chondroprotectant, increased lubrication of joints, etc. There are benefits to both products and what it comes down to is what works best in your dog to help control pain.  Dasuquin is probably one of the best glucosamine/chondroitin products available and is well worth trying. Flexadin granules is also a very good glucosamine/chondroitin product. Personally, I had my dog (a golden to retriever with hip dysplasia) on Flexadin and it did not make a significant difference in her lameness even after several months, but when I added Duralactin, the improvement was amazing. She was running and playing ball again without any lameness. I think you should see what works best for your dog. Duralactin was great for my dog, but I am still using it in combination with Flexadin.  Ask your vet for his/her opinion.

Does anyone know the calorie content in one of these Duralactin chewable vanilla tablets?  Thanks!

I don't know but my dog tends to gain weight as she is old and sleeps a lot. She is has taken it for over a month with no weight gain and moves a little more and seems happier. I give as directed but crumble it in her food. Hope this helps.
