The double coat makes for lots of brushing and have typically used a "rake" brush that works well. However, compared to this slicker brush, the old brush was harder on my dog and didn't do as good a job. Yes, it was more than I wanted to pay for a dog brush but now I know why the groomers use this to get my dog looking like a show dog. Brushing is some much gentler for my dog and works sooo much better. It will help put time between grooming dates, so actually will save me money.
