Honestly, this is the cough drop I want if my sore throat is waking me up and my cough hurts. The numbing effect is very fast and effective, however short lived. But it's likely enough to get you back to sleep. They also make a spray that works just as well but is better for Immediate use while the drop numbing effect works so long as your sucking on it

Initially when put in mouth it does have a medicinal flavor to it but as it dissolves it helps alleviate sore throats due to allergy or a cold. I didn't notice any numbing as it states on the product box but overall it does help any soreness. I find after a moment that it's soothing with a nice flavor. Smooth texture. Inside there's a liquid center that oozes out and is effective in helping any throat soreness but also has a nice flavor. Soothes the throat without aftertaste. Good value
