Yes, If you want your water on the sweeter side, I make my own bubbly water and add the syrups to make a soda, as light or strong as desired and I use them to flavor mock-tails too.

No refrigeration needed, I leave mine sit out on the countertop. I am guessing that it took me approximately 2 months to go through the bottle with no problem with it going bad.
