Review: Perfect to remove the weathered look! - We used this on our weathered garden bed. It had weathered one season and we wanted to stain this bed and a newly constructed one, but wanted consistency in color.. this brightened our 1 year old wood bed *almost* to brand new. It is still slightly weathered but close enough we felt good staining both. It looks great! Color is perfect and easy to apply. Would recommend. It is a bit expensive but to be expected for a quality product.

**Q: What is the best method of application?**
A: I put it on with a string mop.  Of course, the deck was new so it wasn't really too soiled. This summer(if it ever stops raining) I will repeat the process and then rinse, let it dry and put on another thin coat of Defy stain.  I had used another product to clean some really soiled cedar but the Defy was ever so much better

**Q: Does this product cleans and brighten a deck?**
A: Oh yeah! My deck is fir, it was sunburned grey. I took an Oreck orbital floor machine and put on the stiff brush. First I cleaned the deck...that's another product. The Oreck removed loose stain, dirt and opened the grain. Then I put this on, rinsed it off and used Defy's deck stain. It looks better than new.

**Q: how long will this brightner keep deck bright**
A: Hi there. I used the brightened just prior to staining my deck. And Wow! What a difference . You can clearly see a difference after the wood has been "brightened".If you don't apply a stain over it I am not sure how long it will stay like that or even if it will.

**Q: how is this product different than just oxalic acid? I'm refinishing some beehives this winter and not sure which to use?**
