It Really Works & Works Well
I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago, and while not severe or always present, the flare ups can be miserable for days and sometimes weeks. I was prescribed Dicyclomine and have had limited success with it. I approached the purchase of this product with some skepticism, but thought I would try it. So very glad I did. With regular use this product has virtually ended my IBS flare-ups, and another great benefit is that I no longer require the prescription med. For me this was a huge benefit because wherever I can, and whenever possible, I'm always anxious to replace prescription meds with something natural and more gentle. If you purchase this product I encourage you to be patient with it. For me took awhile to work. You won't take these and experience immediate relief of your symptoms. It was several weeks before I noticed a marked difference, and I'm now beyond six months without a single IBS flare-up.

Daily Relief and Effective โ Highly Recommend IBgard
I take IBgard Gut Health Supplement (Peppermint Oil Capsules) every day, and it has made a big difference in managing my digestive discomfort. Digestive Relief: Helps reduce cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, and bowel urgency, leaving me feeling more comfortable and balanced. Ease to Swallow & Smell: The capsules are easy to swallow and have a mild peppermint scent โ not overpowering. Effectiveness: Works quickly โ I usually notice improvement within the same day or 24 hours. Ingredients & Gut Health: Contains peppermint oil that supports healthy digestion, nutrient absorption, and helps maintain a balanced gut. Recommended & Trusted: I highly recommend IBgard โ it helps manage occasional abdominal symptoms when taken daily. The only downside is that the price is high, and it has increased even more recently. Overall, this supplement is gentle, fast-acting, and very reliable. I would still strongly recommend IBgard for anyone looking for consistent daily gut support. Update: Iโve been using this since it came out, and it still helps with digestive relief. Itโs been very consistent for me.

Spicy!
Not sure if these worked for me but didn't hurt either! I was dealing with food poisoning - the worst of it was over but my doctor said I could be feeling the after effects of it for "days, weeks, months" (?!?!) and I asked what I could do to relieve my symptoms - bloating, gas, discomfort, stomach aches. She told me to take this stuff. Not 100% sure if it worked for something like this - I was already over the hill and things could've been getting better regardless - but didn't hurt to take either. I recommend only taking one capsule because the peppermint was STRONG with two. I could feel it in my upper chest after ingesting it.

It works for severe ibs d
It works, I have severe IBS D and I take one Imodium a day. I feel that I may actually get my life back...This combo allows me to work out, golf and pretty much be ok. I cannot have any sugar or alternative with the exception of monk fruit and then only a minimal amount. Give it a try despite the expense. I hope it worsens for you

Physician and IBS sufferer here
Physician with IBS-D here. My experience with this product has been very good. The next day after taking it for the first time I had my first normal BM in many, many months. I've found Heather's Tummy Tamers to work well also but these seem to have a better enteric coating on them. If taken on an empty stomach and with not too much water, I get no minty reflux at all. The price is more than Heather's, but I'll pay more to avoid the reflux. For those wondering about it, the reflux is because peppermint oil is a smooth muscle relaxant. That's how it works in the gut -- the gut wall is smooth muscle, and in IBS it is contracting too much or too forcefully or not in a patterned way. However, the gastroesophageal sphincter is also smooth muscle, and that is what prevents reflux. Relax it with peppermint and you get reflux. Enteric coatings work by not dissolving in an acidic environment -- like your stomach. However, if you dilute your stomach acid with food or beverage while the peppermint capsule is in there, then the coating will dissolve and you will get the reflux. Hence, take your enteric coated peppermint, whether this product or heather's, 30 minutes to an hour before eating, using enough water be sure you got it down and no more. The "number needed to treat" for peppermint oil for IBS is very low -- around 2.5. That means for every 5 people treated with peppermint oil, 2 will experience benefit. That may sound like a not-so-good number, but actually in pharmacology that is a very good NNT. For comparison, the NNT for prescription antispasmodics like Bentyl and Levsin is in the 3-7 range, which is also quite good, but compare those numbers to something like Xifaxan which has an NNT of 11 and costs $900-1,800 per month and you begin to appreciate that peppermint oil is winner. And with a low cost and low side effect profile, it's almost impossible to beat from a cost/side effect/NNT combined perspective. Give peppermint oil a try. Try Heather's first if you don't have any problems with reflux as Heather's is much cheaper. IBS is multifactorial. If peppermint oil doesn't help you, then gut hypermotility or dismotility is not your problem and you will need to try something else -- FODMAP diet, prebiotics, probiotics, and EXERCISE (that one is for everyone no matter what, of course). If it helps a little, you will need something else in addition to it. And for some lucky folks, this is all you will need.

Better than nothing, but worse than Mebeverine
Iโm giving five stars because I want this product to exist; there is no real alternative in the US. But I want to be clear that this is a poor replacement for Mebeverine, the medication it is standing in for. The US is pretty much the only country where Mebeverine is not available, and itโs a shame for those with IBS or FODMAP sensitivity. IBgard is about 20% of the potency of Mebeverine. In terms of where it takes effect, itโs much better targeted than hyoscyamine which is really way too broad across the body. In my experience IBgard takes about 50 minutes on an empty stomach to take effect; Mebeverine is about 20. I know that IBGard is recommended to be taken before the meal in question, but thatโll get pricey if you take it for every meal and you need it just for some which may be hard to predict. I wish there werenโt a need for this to exist and Mebeverine were available to Americans, which is clearly better. But as it is, this seems like this what we have for now.

Not economical or affordable enough to justify continuing purchasing.
I've gotten a couple packs of these, but the price is just too expensive to continue buying them. 48 Capsules come in a pack, but you are supposed to take two at a time. Meaning, a whole pack won't last a full month. Now, the product itself worked for me. While not diagnosed with anything, I've always had digestive issues and wanted to give these capsules a try. They did seem to help. So if you can handle the expensive price, I'd recommend them I suppose.
