Built too thin
I bought a 6ft and a 9ft to fish in Costa Rica. The first Spanish mackerel I caught on the 9ft broke the pole. My drag was set pretty soft too. The overall feel of the pole is nice and light but that's the problem. It's built too light. An eye on the 6ft one just broke loose and was spinning then it also broke on a 3lb catfish. The reels are holding up and feel great though so at least those are worth keeping.

Incredible portability and value.
I kept my expectations level with this rig. I wasthen super surprised when i hooked up on a 24 lb grass carp, on 12lb test no less!The pole never wavered and worked perfect.The reel is very smooth and even the handle is telescopic. For the money it's the perfect travel rig. Throw it under the back seat and forget about until the opportune moment.

Grate fishing rod and reel for the price
I'm not a pro but I think this is a great product to get you started. bought this rod for the fishing trip with my sons and they put them through the durability test but they survived. I'm very satisfied with how light and portable it is. It feels well build and I highly recommend it.

Broke the first time I used it
I purchased and finally used the rod and reel. They seemed really nice. The reel is pretty smooth. The rod however broke near the top. Not sure why. I was using and bending like normal on all the other poles I have. I have contacted customer service so will see if I can get a replacement.
