The first Spanish mackerel I caught on the 9ft broke the pole. My drag was set pretty soft too. The overall feel of the pole is nice and light but that's the problem. It's built too light. An eye on the 6ft one just broke loose and was spinning then it also broke on a 3lb catfish.
