My 10 year old son wanted this switch game for his Easter present this year. It’s basically a well designed and fairly easy to use toolkit for making your own super Mario levels in various styles, ranging from the OG retro 8bit games to the more modern 3D and 2.5D versions of Mario. You are able to post your creations online for others to play (so long as they can be cleared first!) as well as access a near limitless library of level creations from other players world wide. To that extent, the game offers pretty much unlimited playability. This being said, most of the functionality of the game requires a Nintendo online subscription. If you don’t have one of those, you will be limited to designing your own levels and playing them locally. The game does have a 100 level story mode for offline single player fun, but really it’s the level designer toolkit that you are paying for here. Overall, this is great for creative types and budding level designers, my son is really enjoying it and has made some great (and somewhat challenging) levels with it already!
