Review: Works great to replace door speaker in a 2001 Toyota Avalon - Bought this kit to replace the JBL door speaker in a 2001 Toyota Avalon. Took watching a video and about 30 minutes to remove the interior trim on the passenger door. About 5 minutes to install the new speaker and test it. It sounds great. A hint - do not tighten all 4 mounting screws until you align the speaker with all four hole as on my first attempt on 3 screws would align with the holes. Took another 30 minutes to get the trim back on (hint: put the window down before the reinstall as it makes seating the trim much easier). The speaker seems to have great sound without using the crossover shipped in the kit . I'm assuming the Avalon already has a crossover circuit. It's too bad I have to buy a 4 speaker kit just for one 6.5 inch speaker, but the desertcart price for the 4 speaker kit was 1/3 the price of single speaker from Toyota. The previous factory installed JBL speaker lasted 23 years before it got crackly and distorted. My wife is especially happy with the new clear sound.
